DreamScape Desserts — Restaurant in Walker

I ordered a set of cake jars from this company via a Groupon- six jars in total, two each of the following flavors- salted caramel, maple bacon, and triple chocolate. The item was delivered within one day of being shipped, and did indeed taste like it was made within 48 hours. The packaging was of great quality- thick styrofoam separating each jar. The 8 oz jars were larger than expected and very reusable. The labels were easy to read and contained extremely detailed ingredient lists.

As for the cakes themselves, my whole family enjoyed them. The chocolate chips, frosting, and especially the cake mix seemed like it was made from scratch and had a nice fresh homemade quality. The cake portions were very moist. I never stored these in the fridge- they were all enjoyed within a few days at room temperature. The flavors are very diverse and different. The maple bacon sounded odd but tasted surprisingly great, the salted caramel had a heavy dollop of salt and sugar reminding me of chocolate-covered pretzels. The triple chocolate was the best, and had a generous amount of chips tossed on top. Some things I would change— for the asking price, even at a discount I think 8 oz jars are on the small side and larger would be better and make for a better balance between the layers of frosting and cake- there is a lot of frosting in each jar. We were extremely disappointed with Dreamscape Desserts! Their cupcakes are great, but their customer service lacks greatly! I tried contacting them multiple times (over a 4 week period) to put in our final numbers, flavors, ask a question and submit our final payment. Each time, I got a different excuse as to why they never responded. One email they apologized and responded with "we are a little overwhelmed and just focusing on making sure orders are completed on time. Unfortunately, that meant the communication really was poor". I emailed, called, sent messages on Facebook and the only reason I did not physically go to their storefront is because I am not in the GR area. When I finally got the final invoice, the description of our display cake was not what we had originally talked about. I sent back another email to confirm (along with a picture and description of what we wanted/planned for) that our cake was NOT going to be what was described on the invoice- they did respond and reassured me that our cake would be like the picture.

That feeling of disappointment as we walked up to our plain white cake was awful! It's only once in your lifetime do you get to design your wedding cake! The fact that we did not get what we had talked about and planned for and that our cake was nothing but a two tiered white cake was unacceptable! Not to mention we paid EXTRA for this cake.. All in all, extremely disappointed with this company and I would not recommend...

First trouble we had was coming to our venue, and there was no cake set up. They were suppose to be there around 1, and we were there at 4 and there was no cake. I, mother of the bride, was panicked. We called. No answer. They were closed. Called again at 4:30 hoping to catch someone. Nope. At 4:45, fifteen minutes before the wedding ceremony was to start, a box with the cake and cupcakes was found in the corner of the venue. Fifteen minutes to start time!!! UGH. The facility manager said no one had told them the cake had arrived, as the facility typically will get a table set up for them. I was so stressed out wondering what had happened to my daughter's cake/cupcakes. Then to top it off, my daughter's face just fell when the cake came out. It wasn't what she had expected at all. The colors weren't as she had planned and not the beautiful ombre look she had been shown in pictures. The cupcake stand that was in the box didn't look like it had been washed either. Fingerprints all over it. Needless to say, I'm not happy with the over $400 we spent and would not use them again. Way too expensive for...
