So i moved to Florida six years ago, im originally from Dallas Texas. So having real Mexican food is something that I never thought I’d eat again, especially not anywhere in Florida. The other night, my husband wanted to take me out and he randomly chose this Mexican restaurant for us to go to. I had no idea the treat I was in for!! The restaurant closes at 10 and we got there around 9:15 so there was basically nobody there. But as soon as you walk in the atmosphere is just genuine and rare. there was live singing Which I’m usually not a fan of, but I even told my husband that I definitely enjoyed having the back noise because it wasn’t too much. Our Waiter was very polite and he was very quick. He came and brought us our menus and we ordered a frozen margarita for each of us. I got the mango frozen margarita and my husband got the watermelon frozen margarita. They are about the size of the fish bowl but definitely worse it. Probably the best margaritas that we’ve had in a very long time! Then we looked over the menu and I ordered the shredded beef enchiladas with red sauce. It probably only took about 12 minutes for our food to come to the table, but when I tell you that this was the absolute best Mexican food that I have had hands-down in Almost 7 years telling you the absolute truth! I can’t even describe what made it so different, but it’s got its own special taste that has my mouth watering just thinking about it. The portions are big. I usually don’t even bother getting a to go box but for this I definitely did. It is a little bit on the pricey side, but like I said, the portions really kind of even that part out and me and my husband decided that regardless of the price we will definitely be coming back at least once a month. If you’re looking for a quiet but good atmosphere along with amazing flawless food, I would totally recommend...

Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered the tacos al pastor, and they were bursting with flavor – just like the ones I had in Mexico. The salsa bar offers a variety of options, and the homemade tortillas were a delightful touch. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this place is a must-try.” Perfect Spot for Family Gatherings: “Fonda La Petrona is our go-to spot for family celebrations. The spacious outdoor seating area is great for kids to run around while parents enjoy their meal. The chiles rellenos are a family favorite – cheesy and satisfying. Read moreEverything here is made fresh. We were seated quickly at 7:30 Saturday night and within seconds had very tasty salsa and warm tortilla chips on the table. Service is spot on and very attentive. We added guac, which was so incredibly good. Fresh made that day and very lime-y. I had the steak El Burrito entree and Blue Margarita drink. The burrito was hefty, cheesy and had a medium spice to it; I'd try it again but with chorizo. It comes with an AMAZING salad! Made with radish, cucumber, tomato, possibly jicama, but the dressing WOW. My friend had the carnitas entree, comes with the same salad & fresh pico de gallo. It had an odd flavor: the kitchen accidentally added mushrooms. It was brought to the manager's attention who immediately corrected it by firing up a new entree to go. Service and management were awesome. There's so many things to try, we'll definitely return for more. They offer lunch specials and server mentioned they do specials on Tuesday nights with live music. The ambiance is pleasant; artwork is gorgeous dia de los muertos vibe and the bar is custom marble beautiful....
