GameStop — Local services in Altamonte Springs

TL;DR: This is my favorite GameStop to go to, the staff and especially Deleniz truly made it feel like my home GameStop!

I lived in Altamonte Springs for a year before starting traveling nursing! I enjoy going to GameStop not only to buy, and browse but to strike up a conversation here and there with people who know about video games as much as I do! It’s a hit or miss depending on what GameStop you go to, but the GameStop in Altamonte was always a hit for me! The staff members were always extremely friendly and awesome to talk to! I was in there so often some even knew me by name! This treatment wasn’t limited to me, but to those around me! I went to some midnight releases and events at that GameStop and they were always incredible! The most honorable mention is Deleniz who went from being my favorite staff member to my straight up friend! She always made my wife and I feel extremely welcomed and we would personally look for her every time we walked in! She always gave great insight on games, and was a straight pleasure to talk to even when I wouldn’t buy anything! As stated I have since moved from Altamonte and have been to about a dozen GameStop’s since, but I’ll tell you, there is no better GameStop in the 8+ states I have traveled to, and I miss this...

Today I was on a mission to get a PS5 disc edition.. I live in deltona so I went to the orange city GameStop to trade my stuff in and purchase… Well they didn’t have the system and sent me to Lake Mary to get the system and do the trades.. I get to lake Mary and they inform me they do not actually have the system I want so I then get sent to altamonte which when you google it the first store is not altamonte it’s actually Casselberry so now I’m an hour into the adventure and finally get sent towards the right store… I walk in to verify they have the system that I was told was on hold and they did.. So I started hauling all my stuff in which was three systems and like 35 games ! I will say Izzy was super friendly, super helpful and dealt with me for an hour while testing everything and making sure it worked! I will also say the manager was there of the store and she was super friendly and any questions we had she answered right away and were able to laugh and chat while this whole process took place! I work in customer service and this experience at this store turned the day around and I am VERY HAPPY with GameStop again and this was a definite comeback experience! Visited GameStop recently and left pretty disappointed. The Pokémon card selection was very limited, with mostly commons and nothing exciting. I was also hoping to check out or purchase the Nintendo Switch 2, but they didn’t have any in stock, and the staff didn’t seem to know when they’d be restocking.

Unfortunately, the customer service was poor to average — staff weren’t very engaged or helpful. I asked a few questions but didn’t get much more than vague responses.

The store itself was clean and organized, but overall, the experience felt like a letdown. Would recommend calling ahead if you’re looking for specific items like the Switch 2 or...
