Most expensive unintentional salad order I've ever made.
Ordered the "fry me a river" which the photo would suggest is loaded with tuna and salmon, which one should expect paying $17 for one... only to find I think I counted a grand total of 3-4 small pieces of tuna, and about the same amount of salmon, pulling out all the edamame, carrots and cabbage from the second half came to find nearly half the entire mass of it is all vegetables (the other half being rice and tortilla)... honestly if I wanted to order a vegetarian option I would have, and a deep fried burrito with 90% of its insides being rice and vegetables shouldn't run more than $2-3... see also what that costs at Taco Bell.
Additionally ordered a "hand roll", or what someone who has never seen sushi before must think a hand roll is, clocking in at over $10 for what was basically a normal tuna roll (maybe a 6 piecer normally) that was simply not cut into pieces...
Typically a hand roll should cost half as much, have twice as much fish in it, be cut into a small pieces and rolled like an ice cream cone.
All in all this is the most overpriced, under delivered sushi place I've visited in all of Orlando in the 5 years I've been here and 20+ sushi places visited.
If you want real sushi at proper prices just head a little further north to Yo Grub they have real rolls and real sushi for the prices that they should sell for.
If you want hand rolls best bet is to head over to hand roll sushi in Ocoee, one of the few places I've found around here that make hand rolls properly and have them at closer to the right price point (about $8 each... though I still stand firm that hand rolls should be about $5 each it seems everything in Orlando is arbitrarily 50% more expensive than the actual price things cost in the rest of the real world for no logical reason)
All in all this place should be a hard pass for anyone, even if you're curious because it sounds neat or different... you're really not missing out on anything.
Additionally, I'm not even quite sure how one $17 item and one $10 item ended up with a final cost of $33, as I am fairly certain that there is no 22% sales tax in Orlando, unfortunately I don't know the breakdown because I was not given a physical receipt, but I would advise you double check it because the real "sus" thing about this place was the bill which somehow ended up 15% higher than sales tax when I absolutely never did, never would and never will opt to add a tip for someone to hand me food I already paid for over...
Read moreA visited your establishment Saturday. Evenining placed an order for 2 California rolls and a specialty roll, as well as some egg rolls. When I came in, there were 2 people in the restaurant they got their food quick and few people started to come in and it started to pick up and all of them were getting their food. My husband and I sat there patiently waiting well after 20 min I decided to go ask where my food was the first time I asked. I flat out. Got ignored by the 2 girls up front. Making orders they would not even look up to look at me likei wasn't speaking to them as I stood dead in front of them I then brushed that off and waited somemore till i realized I had been waiting for 45 minutes.I went back to the counter and asked when we might be up this time the girl rudely snapped back it was not started yet so i stated i live in deland That I couldn't wait and I would like a refund in which the girl replied by throwing her hands up grunting and storming into the back to get a different employee I explained to the other employee . I've been waiting 45 minutes. She says my food is not Started, may I get a refund? The girl at this point looks over at the side of her register pushes a bag that had been there a while in my hand and walks away I took it like an idiot and just walked out to avoid confrontation... i ate it it tasted great but by 4 am i was deathly ill vomiting and running a high fever ... i am now in advent health deland And have been here for 5 days with ecoli and salmonella I do not recommend eating here with the current staff that they have The food tasted okay, but I've never been so ill in my life due to bad customer service...... trust Once, I am out of the hospital, I do plan on coming in in person and addressing this with a manager and the owner ive been told get an attorney but im not trying to sue i don't blame the business. I blame the girls at that counter And I believe they should be fired. And don't say I don't know what food service is like ive been in it my whole life and typically would never be for someone being fired but They were rude lazy and just flat out unattentive. And because of that I've been in this hospital fighting a horrible. Infectious disease I have missed my son's entire Spring break and I am probably going to miss Easter as well. Because the hospital says I will be here still for a few more days. This is...
Read moreVisited the spot and had quite an experience. I got there at 11 o’clock which is listed by the business as their opening hour. First let me state why 1 star the overall customer service deserve a ZERO. Now the cashier or ninja who took my order was very good , attentive and friendly and mostly apologetic about the whole ordeal, I believe his name is Jojo (per the receipt). Let’s get back to the experience, I walked in all excited, knew what I would order so I could have nice spot to take my guests to when they visit from all over. First, they were out of rice fries. Then , I could not get the crab rangoon because the fryers were NOT on , it is past 11 at that point because my roll is being worked. With all of this happening sporadically, the sensei supposedly the shift supervisor who was present did not apologize for the inconvenience but rather had an appearance as if he was simply annoyed to be there this morning. True, unexpected things happen, but I am a customer, that is none of my business. When I come to spend money, I expect the lights to be on, the cooler to have cool drinks, the fryer to be on and happy faces and a manager who at least would acknowledge what is happening and know that it is an inconvenience to the customer. Last but not least, I grabbed a mango aloe Vera juice to complete my order. Once I left, had to come back because the capsule was opened and re- tightened to almost appear as it was sealed and there were brown stuff on the tip of the bottle almost as lipstick or simply dirt, I don’t know. Jojo again apologized for all the inconvenience especially since it was my first time. Nice concept overall but the Altamonte location can use some pointers on custom service and manager training on better leadership. Invest and take the opportunity to train them for excellence. The food is not bad. at least no so good to put up with the poor...
