My wife and I decided to try a new restaurant we hadn’t been to before. Unfortunately, we quickly realized it would be our first and last visit.
We arrived before the lunch rush when only three tables were occupied. We waited at the register and were soon greeted by Hostess #1, who appeared a bit out of it—possibly under the influence—but she was polite and explained the ordering process. We stepped aside to look over the menu and then returned to the register, where Hostess #1 was unavailable, so Hostess #2 assisted us.
Hostess #2 was not friendly and seemed disinterested in providing basic customer service. She spoke so quietly we had to lean in just to hear her. After placing our order, we seated ourselves. My wife immediately asked if I also noticed how unapproachable and disengaged Hostess #2 seemed. We chose to stay positive—after all, everyone has off days, and having worked in the food industry myself, I try to be understanding.
We placed a fairly simple order: I had tacos with an additional to-go item, and my wife ordered a burrito with a side of fries. The food arrived fairly quickly. Hostess #1 brought out my tacos first, then returned with my wife’s burrito and fries. As she placed the fries on the table, she spilled some and casually said, “Oops, my bad,” then walked away. She made no effort to clean up or offer to replace the spilled fries. We were taken aback by the lack of care.
We decided to give the food a fair shot. My fish taco was decent, though the shrimp taco was overly salty. My wife found the shrimp in her burrito undercooked and not to her liking. While we were eating, we noticed our drinks still hadn’t arrived—even though the restaurant wasn’t busy and two hostesses were working. About 10 minutes later, Hostess #2 finally brought them over, placing them down without a single word before walking off.
To top it off, just a few minutes later, I accidentally knocked over my drink, spilling it all over myself and the floor. As my wife and I cleaned up the mess ourselves, not one staff member offered to help or even acknowledged the situation.
In summary, the service was disappointing across the board. The lack of attentiveness, professionalism, and basic courtesy made for a frustrating experience. I sincerely hope management addresses these issues and ensures their staff is trained to meet the minimum standards of hospitality. We won’t...
Read moreI don’t often write reviews based on negative experiences—people make mistakes, and I believe in offering grace and moving on. But this situation was different. It was deeply upsetting, and in the moment, I genuinely couldn’t hold back tears.”
I went this Jimmy Hula’s location today at 8:22 PM just hoping to enjoy a nice dinner. I ordered the BBQ Summer Bowl and Cajun pickles. I have a severe allergy to avocados, which I clearly told the cashier when placing my order. When my food came out, it had avocados on it. I kindly let the waitress know and explained again that I’m highly allergic, and asked if the bowl could be remade.
While waiting, I witnessed the cook in the kitchen simply remove the avocados from the existing bowl rather than preparing a new one. What made it worse was watching him smirk at the waitress—as if to say, “I’m not remaking that”—and then hand it back to her. The waitress turned to see if I was watching and still started walking the bowl toward me.
Trying not to break down, I calmly went to the front counter and requested a refund. The young woman, who identified herself as the manager, apologized and processed the refund. I asked to speak with the GM, Ty, but she told me he had already left for the evening.
This situation was not just upsetting—it was dangerous. I explained my allergy twice, and they still tried to serve me food that had been contaminated.
This isn’t just about food—it’s about safety and respect. Food allergies can be fatal. Food allergies are not a preference—they are a medical reality.
The fact that the cook showed such disregard for that is terrifying. It takes nothing to show basic human decency and just make a new bowl. Instead, I left hurt, shocked, and extremely disappointed.
What hurts even more is that I’ve supported Jimmy Hula’s for years and recommended it to others. But now, knowing that even when I speak up about my allergy, my safety can be completely ignored—that’s heartbreaking.
This absolutely needs to be addressed by leadership. Please take this seriously. Someone’s life could be at risk if this ever...

My brother eats here often and raves about the food so we others take out last night.
1st the young lady who took out other was obviously having a REAL BAD DAY and took it out on her co-workers. It appears one of the kids working there placed my tacos in another person's bag and let them leave with it. A minute or more later she scolded him and ran after the customer to retrieve my food.
When she returned we asked if that was my food and she very rudely said no. Only to a minute later put it in my bag. Don't know about you guys but I don't want food that left the restaurant for 2 minutes - who knows what may, or may not have happened to it - not to mention it is against health codes.
I explained to her I didn't want the food that left the restaurant for a couple minutes and she replied "na it's fine". I explained it was not fine and I don't know what happened to the food while it was gone. She replied "it was only gone for a minute". I again requested a replacement as I was not feeding that to my kids and it was also against health code to try and get me that and she said "we know the customer, he comes often - the food is fine - I opened it myself". At this point I said this was not up for discussion and I demanded a replacement - she said "FINE, tossed it on the counter, yelled at the cook, and stormed out the rear of the restaurant.
2nd, the order was completely wrong and the food was not great at all.
Definitely not coming...
