Watching an episode of the food channel yesterday morning my wife Pam observed a particularly tasty looking bowl of macaroni and cheese being prepared. The next thing I knew we were on our way to the Jethro's Altoona Location which serves the best, tastiest, creamiest macaroni on the planet. I'm not the biggest fan of macaroni and cheese but this is for sure the exception, I could easily make a meal of it and walk away happy and full. I ordered the 10 smoked chicken wings with Chili Teriyaki Sauce. The sauce features a comfortable but very pleasant spice burn, with a sweet flavor finish (It's really, really good). We were surprised to learn on Tuesday's we get 10 additional wings free, we ordered those with buffalo sauce, by the way Jethro's take on buffalo sauce is exceptional, a very nicely balanced flavor with a gentle burn. The wings were moist, tender and plump, way off the charts in deliciousness. Pam of course ordered a bowl of her favorite side, the macaroni and cheese which is what brought us here in the first place, along with a bowl of delicious green beans. We ordered a half size plate of Jethro's (epic) onion rings to munch on before our orders arrived. Glad it was only a half size, as full size would easily feed and stuff several people. Our server Jazmin knocked it out of the park with her helpfulness in answering our menu questions, she was very attentive, friendly and made us feel like family, Jazmin checked on us numerous times during our meal, we could only communicate by nodding, as our mouths were stuffed clear full. lol The Altoona Jethro's location have consistently knocked it out of the park every visit. Always excellent staff and management, nice atmosphere, the food never disappoints and has proved consistently excellent, every time. I strongly recommend this restaurant, seems to be very well run, along with having what must surely be an award winning kitchen. There were plenty of wings and some onion rings, along with a few green beans to take home. I'll Give you one guess what's for dinner tonight. lol Oh, by the way Jethro's Cousin Card saved $10. off our meal, which was around $34.00 but ended up $24.00. We both felt their pricing was very reasonable, especially after stuffing two people, than having leftovers to bring home for our...
Read moreDo better. That’s where we’ll start. We have ordered take out many times on Thursday for the half price boneless wings. Tonight is the first time we have been disappointed. My boyfriend called and ordered 3 full orders of boneless wings at 8:53pm. He said he’d be there at 9:30. The order was ready and he brought the food home. We had waited all night for our late dinner that we had enjoyed many times before. Well what a disappointment! First of all, it wasn’t even warm. There was a 7 minute ride home, but we have ordered these in the dead of winter and gotten them home still hot. The orders were split into 6 flavors. Nothing was marked and they were extremely dry, hardly any sauce. I only eat garlic Parmesan and there was literally 4 small pieces with gar par and like I said, barely any sauce. I wasn’t even positive it was far par. They weren’t the nice big pieces. They were all the end of the night scraps, the leftovers, and the only sauce on them was probably left in the mixing bowls. They had probably started cleaning up and already started putting things away and were just being lazy. This order wasn’t called in last minute and it wasn’t picked up at close. If they didn’t want to give us normal quality, they shouldn’t have even accepted the order. My boyfriend tipped 20%. He said the servers/bartenders were really nice, but it was like no one checked the order. I’ve been in restaurant management and I would have sent it back and told them to put sauce on them. The servers should have checked too. They weren’t busy at all, so the 30 seconds to mark them would have not been a big deal, and they would have seen there was no sauce. They probably didn’t mark them because they also probably couldn’t tell what they were. I’m sure it was the point of the night people are doing sidework to get out, but costumers before marrying sauce bears and rolling silverware. 90% of the wings are still in the containers and we made a frozen pizza. Take some pride...
Read moreTerrible / Horrible. Will never go to Jethro's again. A week ago we met up with family there. Had to ask the server for menus. When our food came the server never came back to see if every thing was ok. Had to ask for our check. We really didn't think much about it, we did have a large table and we were visiting. The food was great. So my husband and I thought we would have dinner tonight at Jethro's, what a big mistake. We arrived at Jethro's at 3:05 pm, we sat at the bar. Ordered our drinks when the drinks came we ordered onion rings as our appetizer and my husband ordered a turkey sandwich and I thought I would try their steak. In the mean time other 3 other customers came in and sat down. They ordered their meals, by this time it was like 3:30, still no onion rings. the other 3 customers got their meals. My husband and I still hadn't received our onion rings or meal. I am pissed to say the least. The server said they were busy (which they were) but 45 minutes and we don't have anything. That is not right. Specially when 3 other customers came in 15 minutes after we did, and they received their meal. Needless to say we ask for our bill for the drinks, the server said it was taken care of and we left. We will NEVER grace the doors of any Jethro's again. You can count on that. There was other customers coming in and I told them what kind of service we got. and that we never received our appetizer or food and waited 45 minutes. Hopefully you don't give that kind of service to very many customers or you just might be closing your doors. I don't want to even give it a 1 star rating. But it won't let me...
