Waited over 45 minutes for $40+ worth of food we ordered on their website. Not door dash or any other party but right through Popeyes. So after 10 minutes they come out and say they are out of unsweetened tea and the chicken for chicken sandwiches. Ok cool I'll take a coke and substitute the chicken sandwich. They refused to substitute anything for the chicken sandwich, wouldn't even use chicken tenders at our suggestion and refused to give a refund because I ordered not through their window but online. On their site and through my confirmation email I couldn't find how to get a refund and they kept refusing and refusing to give me this $5 sandwich all the whole also not completing the other things in my order. I finally say I just want to leave so the manager on duty has to call another manager who also refuses any substitute and says the only thing they could do was toast a bun and give us 3 chicken tenders in a box. I even said look I just want my $40 or my order. I won't tell anyone anything. I'm not sure how a company can be embarrassed about substitutions on their menu items over being out of popular items on the menu. Completely insane to think a customer will leave with no food and no refund. Over a chicken sandwich they could have put 2 chicken tenders on and I would have left a happy customer with no judgement towards them that they can't keep stock of items like tea, coke and chicken for their sandwiches. 1 location with s ridiculous policy that took 45 minutes and a call to corporate for a refund to resolve has me never even being a customer here again. If you like Popeyes do NOT go to this location! Unbelievable! Left with a refund and took my business elsewhere. McDonald's may not get the order correct all the time but at least they try to satisfy their customers after THEIR OWN MISTAKES! I'm certainly not the chicken restaurant, running out of chicken and refusing refunds or replacements so I'm not sure who should b to blame here because the workers certainly thought it wasn't them or...
Read moreI placed a mobile order on the Popeye's app, and subsequently drove to the local restaurant to pick it up. I chose drive-thru as the method of pickup in the app, and proceeded to the drive-thru speaker, gave my name, and was told to pull to the window for my order. I get to the window and the attendant was completely confused and asked me to pay for another order (not mine which was already paid on the app) and I explained I had a mobile order that was paid. He then finally found the order and said it would take, and I quote "A Few Minutes" to make the blackened tenders on my order. I was asked to pull to a parking spot and they would bring it out to me. I waited 20 minutes before walking into the restaurant to check on the order. Nothing had even been made yet. There were two employees (one at the counter and one in prep) and both moving as slow as possible. They served numerous other drive-thru and in-store customers in this time. I wait another ten minutes while they prepare my food, and hand me the cups to get the drinks myself (they should have at least had them ready)! I finally get my food and head back to work, only to find that my chicken strips aren't even in the bag and I have used all my lunch break just waiting on food. I don't have time to drive back and get them. I call the local store and the phone rings about 15 times before someone finally picks up. I ask for a manager and the guy on the phone says he is the manager. I complain that I had to wait for 30 minutes for my order, and the strips which were the item I supposedly had to wait for, weren't even in the bag. He simply said "sorry, I'm looking at them here". I asked for a full refund for the order due to the inconvenience, error, and horrible lack of customer service. The guy said he couldn't refund the order and seemed to care less about the wait or lack of customer service. Overall, the absolute worst fast food experience I have ever had at any...
Read moreMinus 5 stars. This is the most poorly managed fast food place on the planet, and I've spent a lot of time in 3rd world countries. Popeye's needs to pull the franchise license from whoever owns this place. Read through all the reviews please, this place is a disgraceful operation.
I'm in an area with no Popeye's and am around Altoona roughly once every 2 months and try to stop here. I've had previous complaints where they give you very few french fries and it seems like they make the employees pay for the 'taters out of their own pocket. The portions were pathetic. I went there tonight and had to sit in line for 20 minutes until I placed my order. They're taking 5 to 6 minutes per order on average which is really slow. So I finally get my order and drive to the hotel, only to find out they did not give me ANY fries with my chicken dinner order!! That was my last visit to this sorry excuse of a business.
Someone also needs to tell them the scamdemic is over. While literally every other business in the area has their indoor seating areas open, this sorry place is still closed to the public, it's the pathetic drive through only.
Every time I have gone there, I see people pulling out of line and going to the Wendy's next door. That's a hint.
Update April 2024 - I heard this place has new management so I decided to roll the dice and see if the service had improved ... and it has. I'm only in the area a few times a year and only stopped here once on this trip, but there is definitely an improvement in service. Food was good but they're still stingy on fries. I'll go back though and...
