A lovely little spot for lunch. The inside is a little dated, but the food and service will make you forget all about it.
My server was incredibly kind and helped me decide between a myriad of items.
I started with the vegetarian sampler with pita bread. The pita was hot and crisp, and paired perfectly with each dip. Their hummus and tzatziki were my favorites of the trio. I loved the addition of cucumbers and tomatoes with the fresh feta. The stuffed grape leaves were delicious as well.
For my entree, I decided on the falafel wrap. It was piping hot and extremely fresh, with a lovely crisp exterior. I had the tzatziki on the side, and also added feta from the sampler. It was fantastic, and I would absolutely go again for that alone.
Finishing off with the baklava cheesecake - this was probably the only thing I wasn’t a fan of. The cheesecake itself is fantastic, however the addition of the sauce makes it far too sweet for my taste. I would go for the traditional cheesecake instead.
They have plenty of menu options that would bring me back to try more, and I look forward to...
Read moreThis place was awesome! We were passing through Altoona and decided to stop for lunch based on the reviews—so glad we did. It definitely has a cozy, diner-like feel. We started with the vegetarian sampler appetizer, which came with very generous portions. The baba ghanoush was spectacular! We also ordered the Mediterranean chicken pita and the gyro Mediterranean salad—both were so good, I’m already looking for an excuse to come back to Altoona. The meat in both dishes was so flavorful! Like other reviews mentioned, the pita is incredibly fresh and soft. We grabbed some baklava to go, and it was delicious—perfectly sweet and cinnamony. Lunch or dinner here is absolutely worth the stop. The waitresses were very friendly and attentive. Parking was a little tricky, and with two different entrances, it was a bit confusing on our first visit—but nothing that would stop us from coming back. Thank you to the...
Read moreAuthentic Greek food in a casual atmosphere. Everything is exceptionally clean and has a comfortable feel. It was apparent from the other patrons that many "locals" frequent this establishment. Both my husband and I ordered a traditional gyro platter with a Greek salad and fries. The portions were very generous and the food was fresh. The beef and lamb were seasoned perfectly, but what really made the gyro exceptional was the homemade tzatziki sauce. Our delicious Greek salads were loaded with fresh feta and a house-made vinaigrette. And the pita bread is absolutely heaven. We took dessert to go and it was every bit as good as the meal. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The owner waits tables and interacts with all guests. You can tell she takes pride in her restaurant. This is a stop worth making for anyone who enjoys Greek food or who wants better quality while supporting local...
