As a former hotel clerk, all of these reviews can be easily explained. When you use certain booking agencies, they submit a virtual credit card #. Staff must confirm this to make sure it is valid. Secondly, staff requires an active current credit card or cash in case any of the rules that the customer signs are broken(pets, smoking indoors, damage, theft, etc. This is called a deposit and is returned upon check out after a room inspection. If there was a problem with any room it should have been reported first thing once alleged issues were found. If rules are broken, there is typically a charge, hence a security deposit is required ( or vald c/card. If not there is nothing to worry about.
If I found any drug in a room, I would again report it to the office right away. Do not discard of said drug. I cannot stress enough that if there are any issues with your room ,report so immediately.
All should be common sense.
The hotel rooms occasionally do have rules that are broken. Customer signs for such rules during check in. As far as any newer reviews,I noticed a trend that when certain guests break the rules,or any hotel belongings in the room for that matter, they leave a bad review out of spite because deep cleaning a room is both time consuming and costly.hence the security deposit (which only get charged for the aforementioned reasons.) To address the other negative reviews, There is a 11pm noise ordinance, yet another simple fix by calling the front desk, whom will contact the loud guest and/or local law enforcement if needed. There was a short time when the front desk was understaffed,so if an employee happens to be multitasking , that's why the laminated apolog6 accompanied with a desk bell 🔔 is placed at check in counter, but rest assured an employee is only 20-30 seconds away 95% of the time.(Excluding switching out laundry , taking out trash, restroom break, vacuuming common areas, or watering flowers) Now,to explain the remodeling and repair, they have multiple signs posted on buildings all over the world (especially historically significant sites do require upkeep which is ongoing and productive.
This amongst other establishments all across the U.S.A ave had a handful of unruly guests who do lack common sense, break common sense rules, and leave a bad review and have the audacity to demand a refund. Here are a few examples: barbecuing in their doorway over an open 4 foot flame via a portable charcoal grill. Litter bugs. Ignorant drivers parking in designated handicap parking area without placard/proper paperwork. The sporadic domestic arguing which immediately gets remedied properly immature, petty, thoughtless issues that need resolved, get resolved to make sure you have a nice stay and even nicer future stays here. And my deepest apologies for repeating myself, I just wish the mass majority who enjoy their stay would help us out with positive reviews ,we truly appreciate your visit with Horseshoe Curve Lodge a.k.a....
Read moreFraudulent Motel! Do not book this accommodation! You risk that you will be charged twice. In our case a first time when we booked a room with Expedia. And then a second time when we arrived at Horseshoe Curve Lodge. There we were asked for a credit card for purely formal reasons but the truth is that they charged us more or less the same amount a second time without informing us. With such practices it is not surprising that in this Motel we hardly found any other guests that the establishment looks run-down and financially ruined. Unfortunately, Expedia didn't help us with this obvious fraud either. Their empty phrases were nothing more than a waste of time. But yes, at the end of the day they make more profit with a run down Motel than with an occasional booker. To make it short: Avoid this place! You will find – even for little money – a better and above all a more credible accommodation than Horseshoe Curve Lodge. And you might even find it on a website that unlike Expedia helps it costumers when they...
Read moreI have to be honest. Although I don't like writing bad reviews, this one deserves it. As soon as i arrived, I was welcomed very rudely. I had to wait several hours for my room to be ready, what wouldn’t be that big of a problem, if they just let me wait at their couch, but they wouldn’t let me. I wasn't given an explanation for it either. What else is the couch for??? When I finally got into my room, the first thing I noticed was the smell. I'm not sure if it was a broken pipe or anything but it smelled so badly, I didn’t even want to stay in my room. Later at night I couldn’t even fall asleep because the bed was so uncomfortable. For anyone who's thinking about staying here: Pay more somewhere else, even if it’s just for one night, because feeling comfortable should be guaranteed anywhere no matter the price, but unfortunately this hostel was not able to make me...
