Arby's — Restaurant in Amarillo

07/28/22 - As someone who grew up in a rural German community just outside of Chicago, I've had many Ruben (also spelled Reuben) sandwiches and have pretty high standards. So when I tried my first grilled Ruben at Arby's, I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. As most sandwich connoisseurs can confirm, it's the BREAD - first and foremost - that determines the quality of a sandwich, and Arby's dry-grilled (no added oil) swirled caraway bread was quite acceptable; not the best I've ever had, but decent. The meat, however, was VERY good and tender, with plenty of it. Their choice of sauerkraut was fairly good - not quite as acidic as some brands, but not completely flavorless, either. Sadly, the cheese was unremarkable. [I must remember: Arby's motto is, "We have the MEATS," and not, "We have the bread, cheese, and krauts!"🙂]

Overall, Arby's Grilled Ruben sandwich is a solid contribution to the whole Arby's lineup - a very decent sandwich for most tastes, but not to be ignored by more discerning palates.

We stopped here for a quick lunch, ordered my regular roast beef and my friend got a beef n cheddar.. food was hot, fresh, especially the French fries! 🍟 Restaurant was clean, not busy, the workers were very nice and accommodating to us and the ppl in front of us.. very quiet as we and the other couple were the only ones in the dining area. I’ve always liked this store over some other ones we have in our area.. it just seems more well-controlled, I don’t know ? Ppl here are usually always very nice and friendly!! The menu choices listed below doesn’t show the choice for the Gyro sandwich that you can get.. I really like that one a lot as it’s seasoned really well like the original Greek Gyro meat with the Tzatziki sauce that goes well with it!! You usually get it on the side, and I always ask for X2, bc it just love that meal…. The restaurant is always clean and quiet.. I do know the drive through gets really busy during the lunch run, and around...

Service was very slow. Only two other already seated and eating inside. Took close to 10 mins before I my order was taken. I was acknowledged and told often I would be served soon and received apologies often as well as when I was serviced. Would have been nice to have received a discount for the wait, however I didn't I guess I was too nice and understanding to get one. The soda fountain drink I wanted did not work well,you as in it spurted everywhere, I advised and was told how sorry they were that happened, but no one went to attempt to fix the issue.
