Burrito Stop — Restaurant in Amarillo

A cool little Tex-Mex cafe open for breakfast and lunch, Burrito Stop has been on our to-try list for a while. We were able to stop in on a Saturday for lunch. They do have different specials but I'm still not clear which days are what. I did cheese enchiladas with red sauce and added an egg. My partner did the tripas tacos plate. At $9 plus the egg add-on I thought my plate was a fair deal, and the egg was cooked perfectly. At $11.50 I thought the taco plate was overpriced, especially with the small amount of meat. I don't expect street tacos to bust at the seams but the portion was a bit light. Flavor-wise, everything was great though. They even have a spicier hot sauce you can ask for. I kept hearing about this place but I finally got here just a few days ago. I mentioned to the young man that I had seen their ad for a ribeye steak meal for $9.99 and did they have any specials this day. He told me he could fix me this special for the same price if that's what I wanted. Perfect! It was a huge plate of food for the price and I got a horchata to go with it which was delicious. Everything was good and I can't wait to go back and try their birria tacos. Everyone was friendly and checked in with me to make sure I was okay. The young man who took my order and talked to me at the end was very helpful and informative when I asked him questions about the place. It's not real close to me so that's why it took me so long to get there but now I think whenever I'm in the downtown area I will try to...

Just leaving this place. I brought to the staff’s attention that she overcharged me because the website says the loaded burrito is $3 and change but she charged me almost $5. She tells me “oh the website don’t work”. I said, “What does that mean?” She says, “it’s been the wrong prices for years and the manager don’t know how to fix it.” I said, “well, I’m going to write a review because you’re overcharging people who look up your prices online.” She says, “ok, that’s fine.” Her attitude was as if she couldn’t care less with a shoulder shrug that definitely let me know they won’t get a dime more of my money.
