Rain Premier Sushi Bar & Lounge — Restaurant in Amarillo

I went in with my wife and my baby. Asked for a table for 2 and a high chair. We were taken to the table, and the hostess went back to the hostess counter. After about 5 mins I asked a server if I could get a high chair and she went and got one, despite having a massive table of her own. I wish I had that server. Apparently there was 2 tables of 20 dining just after we got there, so only 2 servers were left for the rest of the restaurant. There was no speed of service. Ordered apps, seemed like they were taking forever, and finally a kitchen worker brought us our appetizers, which one was room temperature. The servers were way overwhelmed, the food was way under par, I asked for a manager and told her the food wasn't even warm by the time it got to me and it's fine but I just wanted some hot wontons. She said she'd discount the appetizers off the ticket. I just accepted it was too chaotic for anyone there to provide a normal dining experience. Meanwhile, the hostesses kept seating more and more guests. The spring rolls were actually fresh and really good and the Cajun roll I would recommend cause it was really good as well. The rest of the food was trash. And I felt bad for what the servers had to deal with, and they should've put people on a wait if the staff can't...

We chose the Rain Premier Sushi Bar & Lounge after reading many wonderful comments. If there was a way to give 10 stars for this restaurant I would easily do so! The miso soup is the best I've ever had, hands down! Fresh shiitake mushrooms are one of my favorites and there were several small slices in this soup. We ordered the lobster roll and the dragon roll. They were both outstanding! Fresh Lobster pieces in a slightly spicy sauce where the highlight for me in the lobster roll. * I say slightly spicy, my husband would say pretty spicy. The Dragon Roll had so many interesting and intricate flavors that it's hard to say what taste I enjoyed the most. We thought we'd start with those two rolls and order another that sounded delicious but the rolls are large and, along with the Miso soup, we had more than enough. Normally I take pictures and even had my camera on the table, but the moment our soup quickly arrived, I completely forgot. The smell was heavenly and the taste devine. My last experience at rain was awful in terms of service. Two co-workers and I went in after work to get a late dinner and the food was great as always. However, when it came down to us paying we all asked for separate checks. Our waiter kept walking around with our cards talking and doing everything else for about 15 minutes before finally bringing them back to our table. But when we looked at the receipts, we found that all of them were charged under my card, Which is a pretty hard mistake to make. We called the lady back and she immediately had an excuse ready which made it seem that she knew what she did but didnt care to fix it unless pointed out. Then she took our cards again. Instead of going to staight over to fix the issue, she wondered around and joking with someone else in the resturant and talking to other tables once again before we got our cards back. She told me I would recieve my money back in 2 days, but instead I recieved it a little more than a week later. She could have just given me cash, but i didn't think to bring it up.
