update They did reach out to me to resolve the issue and that is much appreciated. I will say they are still a good source of health food options that cant be found elsewhere in town. If you have diet restrictions, though (especially if it is life-threatening), do not rely on their staff for guidance.
I recently developed food allergies and have been struggling to navigate finding foods that don't contain corn and soy (which is so much harder than you'd think). I found that health food stores, like this one, carry a lot of products that are safe. My first time in the store, I was hoping for some direction with locating products, but basically got told 'good luck' by the employee and ended up crying while reading labels. That same trip I checked with the restaurant about what foods they might can make that didn't include my allergens and the employee immediately suggested a food that included one of my allergens. I left without lunch, but got a few groceries for cooking at home. I decided to give the restaurant another try today. After telling employees my allergens, they did try to help me find something and suggested a turkey sandwich - they even looked up the bread ingredients for me. I got it to go. When I got to work, I found it had mayonnaise. I called the store to ask if the mayonnaise contained corn or soy oil (because many do) and was told that it did contain vegetable oils and if I knew I couldn't eat some of those I shouldn't have ordered it. Beyond disappointed after paying $18 for a sandwich, tea, and bag of chips (which I found I also can't eat after reading the...
Read moreI hope that this review helps those who are traveling thru, or even those who live close and just never heard about Eat-Rite. This is definitely the place to get a fresh salad. The salad bar always looks like it does from the time the dinning room opens up, until the salad bar is closed down at 2:00pm. There is so much to choose from on the menu. Some people my not like what others do. Everyone's tase buds are different, yet I am sure those buds will catch something that you truly like to eat, as well you will be back for more. Prices change, just like anything else. If you would like to see the price sheet, ask and they will be happy to show you. You definitely have to try one of the smoothies, from the Juice Bar, right around the corner from the dinning room, or just before, you enter the dinning room. You should always feel welcome. If you come in with out a smile, I hope you will leave with a smile; on your face. The Boss' I have seen them smile and joyful more so, then when I met them; almost a year ago! They are a Blessing! Another day, another dollar is Not how I see it... It is another Blessed day to see each new customer's face, to each regular customer's face. I hope I place a smile on someone's face and possibly be remembered; for a life time. So don't hesitate, stop in and eat some...
Read moreI’ve been into this establishment off and on for the last 20 years. A few times I’ve ran in to Donna, who was working checkout and I would just try to look past her snarky remarks and rude attitude. I learned the hard way not to ask for any advice on medicines in there or she will just make you feel like an idiot who doesn’t care about your health…she’s the mean little old lady in there who runs the place if you’re wondering. She’s always making it a miserable experience for the shoppers…but this last time was THE last time she will ever treat me like a dog AGAIN. all I wanted to do was research some medicine before I bought it for my 13-year-old son and instead of taking her advice that “it was the greatest product in the world” and buying it at that moment for $80- she snubbed me and told me if I decided to listen next time to come back in. I stood there with my son as we were staring at each other like “what just happened”. I thought- nope from now on it’s Amazon or Drug Emporium. I should have done this...
