Let me start by saying, I've been a fan of Palace for years. They have always done a great job of making a beautiful environment to enjoy coffee, talk with a friend, or read. I've been a loyal customer ever since they opened their first shop in Canyon. The staff are always nice, and they have always done their job really well. But sadly over the years it seems like things have gone down hill. Firstly: I try their cappuccino's several times a year and have been disappointed so much in the last few years that I've stopped getting them altogether. I have had coffee from some of the best specialty shops in the country and know what a traditional cap should be like, and sadly the quality of the espresso and the steamed milk are lack-luster and far from the competition worthy status that Palace built it's brand on. In fact, I'd pit any average shop's cap in Denver to Palace any day.
Second, I am very disappointed with the way they dealt with their past business partners that sold them coffee. Palace loves claiming that they are an award winning coffee shop, but did you know that was before they bullied their roaster out and started roasting their own? Since that time Palace has had more control, but the quality has suffered.
Thirdly, I've been a customer for years, and recommended Palace to everyone who passes through town. But today as I was there with my wife for a bit catching up on some work, we were kindly asked to buy something or leave. Wifi is for paying customers apparently even though there is no sign and there is plenty of seating. As a customer for years who has supported the brand with hundreds of dollars, this came as a bit of a shock. I get it, it's the policy. But it sure does tarnish the respect and love that I have had for the brand despite the shortcomings mentioned above. The feeling of being welcome and Palace being a place for the community seems lost. My 3 stars is because the coffee is the best in town. Years ago my whole hearted 5 star view of Palace has gone down because of the quality of the coffee and for it's...
Read moreOn my recent travels I was taken by a friend to Palace Coffee and was I surprised, yes, I was speechless! I walked in to an oasis of calm and relaxed luxury. What an extraordinary "indie" coffee atmosphere and the people working are given to friendliness and genuine hospitality which makes for a relaxing and enjoyable coffee visit. Two partners introduced me to their very fine coffee and bakery products and encouraged me to experience their open and tolerant coffee store culture which is so refreshing and liberating. Steven will embrace you with warmth and friendless as he takes your order for he is one cool dude and Jay is the nicest barista going with a personality of caring and gentleness as she works to deliver exceptional Espresso, Cappuccino, Latte and Chai specialty drinks. Palace roasts their coffee in the same building guaranteeing unparalleled coffee bean freshness which is so evident in the superior flavor of their espresso drinks. I have to add that there is also a exotic bar at the back of this unbelievably cool store layout that also offers plenty of seating for singles and groups. Students, this is the place to study as the atmosphere is very low key and quiet. This store by design and function is the new paradigm for 21st century coffee experience and does it rock. I think it does! Thanks Steven and Jay for taking me for a trip into the future, I loved...
Read moreAs someone new to the area (I just moved here from Austin), I wasn’t sure what to expect when I walked into this coffee shop for the first time. But let me tell you—this place is an absolute gem! From the moment I stepped inside, I was hit with such positive vibes. The aesthetic is so inviting and cozy, with a vibe that makes you want to grab a drink, settle in, and stay awhile.
When I went up to order, I was greeted with the warmest smile, and the employee behind the counter was so patient and kind. I had a ton of questions (as someone who’s picky about coffee), and she was incredibly knowledgeable. She gave me some great recommendations and even checked in later to make sure I liked what she suggested. That level of customer service is rare, and it really stood out to me.
The space itself is perfect for getting work done—it’s spacious, with plenty of seating and outlets that are super easy to access. The Wi-Fi is fast and reliable, which is a huge plus for me since I work remotely. And can we talk about the bathrooms? Spotless, with huge mirrors—such a nice touch!
Overall, I’m so happy I found this place. It’s definitely going to become a regular spot for me. Come check out this spot... You won’t be...
