Salt & Vine - Cheese & Wine Bar — Restaurant in Anacortes

I had been here before covid to wine taste with a friend and it was great then too. But yesterday, a friend and I went in to get some things to go and the owner was SO great. He gave us the perfect recommendation on a bottle of wine that was incredibly delicious (I'm actually going back to buy a few more bottles).

We also ordered the charcuterie board since he packs them up to go and when we got home, my friend and I were shocked! It included SO MUCH FOOD! Several kinds of meats and cheeses, olives, dried fruit, marcona almonds, mustard, jam, and more. It was way more than we were expecting and at such a great price. This might turn into a weekly takeout routine. For two people, we were stuffed and still had leftovers, which won't last past...

This place should be called Salt and Vinegar as the owner was so sour and rude! He obviously doesn't need or want business and has zero customer service skills. As far as the wine and charcuterie offered, I have no idea as we made it into the place about a foot only to discover how incredibly unwelcoming he is. And don't even bother trying to go there with a dog, even if it is a service animal. He'll just accuse you of having "an emotional support dog." Absolutely fantastic - the owner is as personable as he is knowledgeable. The charcuterie platters are spectacular (and he's great at making selections for you if you need help) - I get them "to-go" whenever I'm hosting a party or attending one as a guest, and I think they make people like me better (I told you they're good). The wine selection is both unique and dialed-in and I am always impressed by the extremely reasonable pricing.
