Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Anaheim

I would have rated Applebee’s 5 stars, but there are a few things that knocked down their score. To start off with, the food was excellent, and served at the right time and temperature, the problem is that when you compare it to the price on the menu, there is not enough to justify the cost. Next point is the restaurant has given us menus or order against, but they also had a wireless device that could be used to either entertain children or take your order. Keep in mind that if you have more than one child, then having that device is useless for entertainment. We had ordered desert using the wireless, however the server was faster at getting the order in for the kitchen.

One more reason that the score is low, and is probably more important, was when the check was delivered to our table it lack either the folo or the tray. Generally accepted restaurant protocol is that when the check is delivered using the tray or folo, the server is to pickup and process the check. If is NOT placed into the aforementioned tray, then they restaurant expects the guest to take the check and pay up front. We were given the check and based on the protocol mentioned, we tried to pay for our check up front, however there was none. No less than three employees asked why we were standing, when we said that we wanted to pay the check, we were politely reprimanded that the server would pick up the check. We chose to point out their error and stood waiting for the check to be processed. Sure it was more of an embarrassment to Applebee’s then us as guests.

I visited this new Applebee's location with another family member. I ordered the chicken cavatappi (chicken with pasta). The orders took a failry long time to receive. When my order came, I noticed immediately that the plate was all noodles and tomato pcs with no chicken! I asked the waiter and he said he realized that there wasn't any chicken on the plate! The waiter took the plate back and was supposed to get the chicken added, but I still had to wait again for about ten or fifteen minutes again before the brought the chicken. Once the waiter brought the plate back, there was a small amount of chicken parts on the pasta. I asked the waiter one more tie and he said he would get e more chicken. Once again, I had to wait while he brought another plate of chicken. In the meanwhile, my plate of pasta and little chicken amount was getting cold. The waiter offered to take the plate and reheat the food. At this point, my son had already finished his meal. The waiter brought the plate back, but I asked him to bring me a take out box as I had just about had it with the meal and service. One of the managers then came and told e she had comped the meal and I thanked her,, but this should not be the end of the story. I realize Applebee's at this location is new and has new staff, but there should be corrective actions taken to ensure these issues don't keep happening. I've eaten at other Applebee's locations and always enjoyed the food and service and especially some of the specials and don't see why this new location can't be up to the same standards...

Ok, so you All know I'm not a "Corporate restaurant" enthusiasts. I feel they charge too much give small portions and are generally not a good value for the hard earned dollar, also it seems everything on the menu is mass produced or comes from a frozen product. But I am willing to give them a chance at winning my patronage if there is value and good taste to an offered meal. Ok, so I saw the burger commercial on TV, talking about the great flavor and price value and decided to try it out for myself. Now the restaurant itself was very clean, well maintained and the staff was friendly. I ordered the $9.99 bacon cheeseburger combo with a diet Coke. 😋 Meal came pretty quick " my first point of concern" I know how long it takes to cook a burger and this was too quick. Well to be honest the burger was pretty darn good, fresh ingredients lettuce onions pickles 😋 and cooked just as I asked well-done.. The fries, well let's just say they were disappointing 😞 these fries were not cooked fresh, they must have come from a bag and had been sitting under a heat lamp for a couple of hours. They were dried out no flavor and hard, Like hard to chew... Not a fan of Applebee's overall, the place was busy so people seem to like it, but like I said I'm not really a fan. I'm gunna try Chili's next, and see if their bacon cheeseburger combo is better than Applebee's. Follow me and this space and I'll give you my honest opinion. 😉
