Just wanted to come on here and share my personal experience at Joes
I do NOT recommend this place to anyone. My personal experience at Joe’s left me baffled. I had gone in person to apply for an interview, being a frequent customer here in the past. All their advertisements say they are looking for outspoken creative individuals. Over the phone I had even connected about creative passions with the owner who conducted the interview. Yet in my interview the owner took the time to judge my appearance, make assumptions about my background, and judge me. He said I looked like I was “raised by hippies”, and that I looked like I was covered in tattoos and a delinquent. I was not told there was any dress code for this job slinging icecream. And I wore all black jeans and a hoodie to this interview because of my financial situation, unfortunately I don’t have the luxury to buy nicer business casual clothes. Even upon mentioning that to him he proceeded to belittle me, telling me I should’ve “known better”. Known better to not be poor? In my personal opinion, it would seem the owner openly discriminates who he hires. He told me in the interview that they were looking for conservative individuals, (something that is not mentioned on any of their hiring posters), he also critiqued my family and non-binary sibling, and said they do not hire people from Disney because we are all “woke” and “indoctrinated”. I feel everyone is entitled to their beliefs, but if conservative values, and looks is what your hiring is based on, your hiring posters and everything else should reflect that. Instead here it is the complete opposite, and was a completely jarring experience for me.
So once again based on this personal experience, in my opinion I do not...

Read morei love going to joe’s! i’ve been going since before the hype and i’ve always had an amazing experience except for this time.
it was 15 minutes after i received my order and the workers were in the middle of closing. this is on me, i understand. as a service worker myself, people coming this late is not something i want happening. because of this i gave them some grace but when i recall the incident, i felt and still feel invalidated and disrespected. on saturday july 5th, i ordered a joelatti and i only was able to eat some of the soft serve on top before i found plastic deep inside the soft serve. i literally pulled it out from INSIDE the soft serve. it was 12:04am when i asked them about it and the employee i spoke to, was rude and impatient when dealing with me. i believe she was either the manager or a shift lead because she had on a different colored shirt than others (grey). i’d like to reiterate that i understand it was closing; however she looked me straight in the eye, telling me “well we don’t make our soft serve with plastic, it probably came from the air.” i was dumbfounded by her response, because it was as if she was going out of her way to make me feel dumb. THERE WAS PLASTIC INSIDE THE SOFT SERVE, obviously they don’t make their soft serve with plastic? when i clarified and asked “the air??” she responded “yeah, like the particles.” she could’ve easily tried to show concern and ask me if she could remake it, but instead chose to speak to me with a smart remark. this experience really disappointed me and i had never felt this humiliated by another service worker,...
