It took us THE LONGEST time to finally make out to Trader Sam's, even with annual passes, but we finally were able to make it out here and enjoy the Hawaiian like atmosphere and (surprisingly) strong drinks! We came here and ended up sitting outside where they had live music playing and while the sun was slowly making it's way down to night time where the torches get lit up and really make you feel like you're in Hawaii during your stay at the establishment.
We didn't plan on staying too long, considering we wanted to go into the park and do a couple of rides before heading back home, but the drinks and the ambiance made for the perfect combination that we ended up getting two rounds of drinks and another order of fries on top of the burger and fries we shared!
You'll be hesitant at first when you see (actually, it'd be hear since they don't have the prices on the menu) the prices of the drinks at first. But remember, you are in a Disney establishment, and that damn mouse really knows that you'll cough up the money for it; AND they actually don't skimp out on the alcohol here!
UH-OA! (4/5): The both of us shared the UH-OA! which came in an awesome mug that you can keep for another $2-$3; and with the exception that that by itself cost $18, we were extremely happy with the drink and the presentation it came with before consuming. Fair warning, you won't taste the alcohol too much in this one since they did an amazing job of making it taste very juicy, but the moment you get up to use the bathroom, it'll hit you like a wrecking ball. I'm definitely coming back next time with the intentions of drinking this all to myself! SIDENOTE: If you order this inside the establishment instead of in the outside patio, you'll get the sound effects going off any everything!
Piranha Pool (5/5): Don't let this drink fool you... it might look like a harmless girly daiquiri with the pineapple on the side and an accompanying umbrella, but man does this come at you. And the problem is, they make it so delicious and smooth, that you'll want to continuously sip on this bad boy non-stop. We both saw this with a woman in a party right next to us and her drink was gone in a couple minutes! Definitely a go to drink if you want something with strong coconut flavor!
Murky Mojito (5/5): You might be thinking "a mojito... what a cliche." But I specifically asked our server what the strongest drink they had on the menu and without me finishing the question, she referred me to this one. I'm not exaggerating when I tell you the first sip I had of this one, I had this thought in my head saying "that is WAYYYY too much alcohol for a family establishment like Disneyland!" It was a bit too strong that I had to wait for the ice to melt a bit so I could actually enjoy it. Well done you guys... well done indeed!
Needless to say, Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar will be a go to place for us when we want to relax and feel like we're in Hawaii without the expensive plane ticket and...

Had a Disney e-gift card, and Trader Sam's was one of the outside the theme park restaurants I've been meaning to experience. I've heard & watched videos of Trader Sam's theatrics, whenever a guest orders specific cocktails off their menu. Krakatoa Punch, Uh-Oa! & Shipwreck on the Rocks, that I'm aware of.
Here's an account of two visits, inside and al fresco-
Tonkotsu Ramen- Rich pork-based broth, fish cake, wavy noodles, pork belly, green onions, shiitake mushrooms, marinated soft-boiled egg, garlic oil & nori. Sambal on the side. Just as good as ramen from a ramen shop, Trader Sam's Tonkotsu Ramen was a good portion of soup in a large bowl. Unfortunately, it seems fish cake is no longer included, despite being specified by the menu description. However, the pork belly chashu was tender, the wavy noodles (my favorite ramen noodles) al dente, and the shiitake mushrooms providing umami. I did feel the soft-boiled egg was slightly overcooked, as some of the yolk was solid. I asked the attendant for chili flake/oil, to where she informed me of the included side of sambal. Having only a slight markup compared to ramen from a ramen shop, Trader Sam's Tonkotsu Ramen is delicious and a great meal to have, when nearby.
Krakatoa Punch- Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum, Flor de Cana Rum 7 year, Orgeat (Almond) syrup, Sam's Gorilla Grog, Falernum & Hibiscus Grenadine. Think Hawaiian Punch, with an edge. I enjoyed the refreshing Krakatoa Punch, and took in all the theatrics that came with ordering the drink.
Safari Swizzle- Hamilton 151 rum, fresh lime juice, mint & agave nectar, Angostura bitters. Asking the attendant for recommendations on a less sweet, more stiff drink, she suggested the Safari Swizzle, and I immensely enjoyed the minty & herbaceous, overproofed tropical drink.
Loretta Holley, the Disneyland Hotel Food & Beverage Area Manager, informed me Trader Sam's also has a secret menu - Chicken Katsu Curry, Fish & chips, and Loco Moco.
Service was good. Wait was minimal for food & drink. The tiki bar itself was quite small. Looks much bigger in the videos I've watched. After observing several cocktail theatrics, I've had my full of them and prefer seating al fresco. Especially with the fireplace in the foreground.
Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar is a good place for eats & libations. Most of the food doesn't appeal to me and/or have exorbitant prices, but the Tonkotsu Ramen gets my recommendation. As previously mentioned, there is only a small markup compared to traditional ramen shops, and I felt it was just about the same quality. The specialty cocktails are also priced within reason, and some are paired with a fun show, to boot. I would definitely visit Trader Sam's Enchanted...

There’s a place, just off the manicured madness of Main Street, past the Dole Whip lines and the soul-crushing cheer of “It’s a Small World,” where Disney lets its hair down and spikes the punch.
It’s called Trader Sam’s—and it is glorious.
Tucked behind the Disneyland Hotel like a rum-drenched secret whispered between cast members, Trader Sam’s isn’t just a bar. It’s a goddamn ritual. A church of kitsch. An altar to rum, torchlight, and tiki madness. It’s where you go when your feet hurt, your wallet’s crying, and all you want is something that burns on the way down and makes you forget that you spent $150 today to ride a flying elephant.
The decor looks like Walt Disney went on a bender in Polynesia and came home with a suitcase full of cursed relics and talking masks. Everything moves. Everything glows. The walls groan with thunder and the bartenders act like they’re halfway through a sacred Disney drinking cult. And maybe they are.
The “Uh-Oa!” is not just a drink. It’s a commitment. A $32 fire-breathing fruit bomb that comes with chanting, flashing lights, and a mild identity crisis. Want the souvenir mug? That’ll be $62, and your dignity. Worth it. You’ll clutch it like a sacred relic, swearing this is the night everything changed.
And it will.
Because this isn’t just escapism. It’s a full-on, animatronic, theme-park exorcism. You’ll forget about bills. You’ll forget about your ex. You’ll forget that you’re a grown adult drinking out of a monkey skull while thunder crashes and strangers yell in unison like a cult of intoxicated Enchanted Tiki Room rejects.
The food? It’s not bad, but let’s not pretend. You’re not here for bao buns and potstickers. You’re here to drink like Indiana Jones on shore leave and leave with a plastic volcano in your heart.
The bartenders? Mad scientists in Hawaiian shirts. They mix drinks like they’re trying to raise the dead. Half cast member, half chaos gremlin. And somehow it all works. God help you if you order water. They’ll probably curse your family and make it rain inside.
Final Thought: Trader Sam’s is what happens when Disneyland gives its adults a safe space to misbehave. It’s magic with a shot of mischief. A jungle cruise through your liver. And somehow, in this swirling tiki hellscape of drums, rum, and rainstorms that come from the ceiling, you’ll feel something unexpected.
You’ll feel alive.
And isn’t that what we...
