Wendy's — Restaurant in Ankeny

Came in, they gave me the wrong food and dude said “sorry I probably wasn’t listening” then goes back and asks the cook to remake it and she looks me in the face and rollls her god damn eyes then proceeds to mess up the order again. Are you joking. Also looked like there was some random 13 year old boy walking around the kitchen wearing 0 kitchen gear wearing joggers that seemed more like some stained trashy sweatpants. Saw the dude who took my order’s bandaged finger either dip, or almost dip in someone’s cheese dip cup which was pretty unappetizing to see as well. overall the worst experience I’ve ever had at this place and I’ve been here a few times. I will say the male cooks seemed nice, but the one female cook who was asked to remake my order was EXTREMELY obnoxious and rude with her childish facial expressions she made when asked to do a basic thing she wouldn’t of even had to do if she didn’t mess up at first. I work till midnight 5 days a week and a lot of times this Wendy’s is one of my only options for food. Everytime I show up it is within 45 minutes of closing. I have worked fast food for 6 years before my current job and have been on the closing crew multiple times. I know first hand how stressful and frustrating it can be having people come in to order while trying to close. However, this Wendy’s has a lady who is a closing shift manager who is amazing. She always is very kind and never gives off the impression she’s frustrated even though I know it can be. It is not easy to be having a hard close and keep your customer service face on but the closing staff and managers at this Wendy’s are incredible. The food is fresh and fast and they will serve you with a smile. There have been multiple times work has been tough and im in a bad mood coming home. I am an ex-crew member, I have worked at a lot of fast food places in my time and have managed almost every one in Ankeny - most of which had one thing in common: they only cared about making money; however, I have seen first hand that this place is more than that; it provides a family friendly atmosphere and has shown that the owner is dedicated to not only serving, but giving back through its community nights where they actually do give back to the community - a concept which I have not seen since I was a child in my hometown down south; moreover, the staff is friendly and the management, insofar as ability permits, to serve hot and fresh food at the fastest rate at which they are able.
