Call in an order to the ankeny store as we had issue in the past with online orders in Ames. Call was answered with a simple hello(no this is wingstop) but went ahead and asked to place an order for pick up. They obliged amd we went ahead with our order. Should have known something was up when the kid said it would be $285 I mean I'm not sure but it'll be ready in 15 minutes.
Get to the store and tried handing my husband a bag with 2 flavors of wings...when he said that's not right they said did you call the right store? So he went ahead and redialed the number in his phone log. Their phone rang and they stood there dumb founded. His order was no where to be found so they retook it and started from scratch. 20mins later he is handed the bag. Goes to the car to double check and fries are missing. When he goes back to get the fries he paid for not a person knew how to handle it and acted annoyed for wanting the correct order. finally got an order of fries no apology, no discount.

The lady who took my order didn't offer me the drink cup I ordered so I sat down and waited for my order without my drink, a 10 boneless wing combo. There were no other customers in the store. 2-3 employees in the store getting their own drinks and doing whatever they were doing. Clearly a couple of high school kids and an MOD (Manager on duty.) I watched the crew for 22 minutes while I waited for my order. Now, I have nearly 20 years of restaurant experience under my belt and I noticed a few things. Trash on the floor in the lobby, someone's full drink left behind on the drink counter next to the machine, one of the kids was not in uniform and wearing his school t-shirt, a very dark "shadow" of dirt from mopping under the soda machine, and most importantly a lack of urgency from the kids. I could hear a tinge of frustration in the voice of the assumed MOD when I asked the young man who was handing me my food for my drink cup and the MOD instructed him to give me a large instead. TLDR: WING STOP is slow and dirty. I don't know why I expect excellence from any fast food...

After 30 minutes a gentleman who put in a walk in order at 6 inquired about his order. They recieved their order in about 35 minutes, which was an order for 2 (the same as mine). I continued to wait and the asked the staff stating my order was supposed to be ready at 6 (it was then 6:45) and explained that I had somewhere to be and was now very very late. I asked of they could confirm if they recieved my order. After looking they did have the order. After waiting 50 minutes and people with walk in orders getting their food before me, I finally recieved the order but I was over an hour late to my commitment. Not pleased at all. This was only the 3rd time I've tried WingStop. Though the food was good, and I do not believe I will be returning any time soon as I could've went anywhere an gotten my order sooner and made my commitment on time. I'm beside myself that walk in orders recieved their food...
