I don’t typically trash restaurants. That being said my wife took me to this location on my Birthday for a date night basically. We had went previously to the downtown location and it was definitely worth it. Seated us next to the kitchen door which is the only table that is not carpeted underneath. Sits right on the path of the kitchen where the staff goes in.
I get seating where is available but honestly there shouldn’t even be a table in that area.
The dishes and whatnot are right behind the wall that sits next to you so you can’t even have a conversation. It’s also the location where everyone lingers waiting for passerby’s. Also it’s tile floor right there whereas every other table is on carpet.
20 mins for apps then they forgot to give it to us. Manager apologized for that. Then I watched a table of 5 who sat down after we had ordered get their food first. My wife had a Diet Coke I had a regular refilled mine half full with diet and hers with coke, which we didn’t know cause they filled them with pitchers at the table. The food was garbage. The whole experienced just sucked.
Ordered the cowboy steak to share with my wife we ended up just boxing all up and ate the steak at home I ate some gave the rest to the cats. It was so bland if figured they’d enjoy it. The steak was 62 dollars so yeah garbage. The amount of money it costs to eat out in this economy you should be treated a bit better and the food should be excellent. I told my wife I should have just fired a couple NY strips up on our grill it would have been better. Out of soup out of the truffle butter.
I’m out of patience. I’m not one to try and get my food for free even in the face of bad service and taste. Needless to say you are better off at the down town location. Plus I had to listen to the drunk seniors who were liberal asshats complaining about Trump for an hour straight. Just the whole thing sucked bad. Do better. I’m not saying don’t go but I’ll never go back. Waiter...
Read moreThe place is SO loud. Don't plan to talk here, you can only yell and hope the person across the table or next to you hears you. Got seated and drinks quickly which was great but then the waitress disappeared for 20 minutes. So after 20 minutes she walked by asking if we were ready to order, we say yes. She disappears again, proceeds to clear 2 more tables, take food to 2 tables, drinks to another table and She comes back. All other tables seated after us have rolls, no rolls for us. We order appetizer and entrees at the same time..my drink is empty when she comes to table. After she takes our order she goes to the 10-top table that came in after us. Takes their order. Almost 10 minutes later they got rolls, then we got rolls and sometime later we got refills (more than 30 minutes after seating and 10 minutes after the cup was empty). Food comes.. both tables behind and in front of us (including the 10 top) that all were seated more than 5 minutes after us get their food before us. Eventually the spinach and artichoke dip comes.. With a tiny handful of tortilla chips.... not very impressed. Dip was good, chips were terrible. Eventually I get a salad around 8:50pm (seated at 8pm). The entire time waiting 5-10 minutes for refills. Food comes and so do refills we don't need... telling me the waitress plans to not come by for awhile. Salt shakers dump salt so my 9 year old accidentally coated his food in salt (warning for other parents). Over steak was cooked well but was barely seasoned. I'm a salt and pepper only girl and even I thought the steak was boring albeit cooked well. Jalapeño jam burger was OK but boring. You get more interesting burgers from fast food. Overall the price wasn't terrible but the wait was horrible, food super mediocre, and it felt like a waste of our Friday night. I understand the waitress was busy but this place was billed as the #1 steakhouse in Ann Arbor and if it is, that is really disappointing and discouraging...
Read moreThis was our first time vising after living in Michigan for over 10+ years and I had pretty high expectations based on the reviews.
The service was great overall. The waitress was kind and attentive to our requests. I feel like the food took a little while to get as other tables around us that ordered after us got theirs first.
The atmosphere was a little different than what I expected. It wasn't unnecessarily loud but we were going to celebrate our anniversary and it was little different than what I had imagined it being.
The bread that was served before our food was buttery, hot and top notch. Also the clam chowder and French onion soups were on point. These were probably the highlights of the meal that we received.
The rest of the food...was just. fine. Not what I expected at all for the prices. The Prime rib came out more medium rare than medium which was fine but the biggest problem was it lacked flavor overall. For the price I felt like the quality and flavor should be at a different level than I had. I felt the same about the vegetables that were served everything just lacked flavor. I also had to ask for extra Au jus (which has come with every other prime rib I have had - even sandwich's). Also I had to ask for a steak knife (kind of weird as the only other one I had was a butter knife). Not dealbreakers just kind of strange for what I had pictured being the overall experience like. The fresh horseradish was OK but I was surprised at how muted it was for being fresh.
My wife got the Chicken sandwich which from the menu was what I was going to order initially and her review was similar as just lacking flavor. It was just an ordinary chicken sandwich without much flavor / sticking out points to...
