Attended an Open Mic event last night.
Constructive Criticism is much needed. We want small businesses to be successful, you won't know unless someone tells you. Please do better.
Restaurant sign is not lit up at night. Half my party couldn't find the place because the other restaurants signs had bright lights. The place at least needs a spot light shining on the sign.
Seating, we were told we could not be seated until the rest of the party arrived. Which was not fair because we wanted to order and spend money while waiting but they refused. So much for being honest, next time I should lie and say we are all there. I got cheated out of the real menu because after 8 it was a limited menu.
The chairs were hard. Our age group was 35-60 years old, they all complained about their butt and backs hurting and discomfort.
Service, we didn't get drinks first, food was not served in order, I ordered first and the 3rd person then 6th person in our party received their food. No pricing on the limited menu. There should be a drink person and a food person to take orders so that it runs more smooth. You would think it was their first night opening. The lights went out at 820, during an event people need to be able to see what they are eating. There should've been candles along with the centerpieces on the table, we had to use our flashlights from our phones. We were done with our food and plates weren't cleared. Refill of drinks weren't asked fast enough. I had to walk up to the bar for a refills.
Food, once we did get our food it was definitely hot, Mac and cheese was on point! Fish was good, although I expected catfish it was not which the server informed me of but it was fried and tasted just like it.
Drinks, they tried to serve my aunt a drink for &10 in the smallest solo cup, it was definitely one shot and one shot of juice. They should work on better drink presentation. The drink was replaced with a nice cocktail glass which was much more appealing for $10.
Whoever set up the stage did a horrible job with the speakers, we couldn't see the entertainment. All we could see were the entertainments legs and feet. Both speakers should've been set up to the wall of the stage. They did move the speakers once asked.
Staff was very nice and professional even though we had to get up to ask for refills. Also the server never came back to ask if we wanted anything else. And never brought the check out. I again had to go up to the bar to close...
Read moreListen , I don’t even know where to start with Just Like Momma’s. First of all when you call, the customer service is impeccable. I talked to a lady named Cynthia. She was just such a joy to talk to, you could tell that she likes what she does, and likes where she works. I am here actually taking care of my nephew ,while my sister is in the hospital. All I can tell you is, I have been to three different places that are black owned, and I am black and I will never be back to those places again.. I’ve already put them on yelp so it’s no need for me to mention them (Hicks Seafood) well, that one in particular I really did have to mention that one. Although the waitress I dealt with was very nice the manager needs to grab the stick from out of his butt, and that’s putting it mildly. Especially since it was me and only two other people in there. Anyway, back to this phenomenal restaurant. I had fried chicken wings, rice, and gravy, yams, and macaroni and cheese. Although I didn’t go pick it up ,I sure ate that food up and I’m gonna eat some tomorrow and every day that I’m here, and they are open. I will be there eating something new off their menu. I like to support black businesses, that particular place even though I live way in Deltona, and they will definitely see a lot of me. I don’t have a problem traveling for good food. There was a lady named Miss Penny. I take my hat off to her if she was one of the cooks, but I heard her in the background. I can only imagine, how crowded that place will be tomorrow when I get there. Just to let you know, If you haven’t been there, please take the time out of one of your days to go there. Trust me once you go, you’ll be back no matter where you live. Totally amazing , mind blowing to me at least , and it only really matters to me because I’m the one that ate it. The rest of you will have to find out on your own. BIG UPS TO , JUST LIKE MOMMA’S, they definitely have flavor, good customer service, and are willing to listen to your questions about the food that you’re wanting, and can tell you everything to make you want it even more. I can go on and on about this place, but I’m not go find out for yourself. You’ll see that everything I said was true. My Easter is going to be happy, right along with my belly because I’ll be at Just Like Momma’s 🙌🏽🙌🏽✌🏽One...
Read moreI know this is a new restaurant so I’ll give them some grace. But there are a few things they could nip in the bud now…. So it doesn’t take them down. While I was there in the restaurant, they had me scan my bill to pay online when I paid the device asked me for a review and I left a few very detailed comments. For this to be a new restaurant, it’s too many idle people ( I’m guessing it was family ) standing around on their cell phones, sitting down having conversations and not making sure everybody is accommodated when we were there. It was a young man who was trying his hardest to keep About five tables of women satisfied, running to the kitchen to get catchup, silverware, napkins, refills he seem to be taken care of the front of the restaurant then there was one table of women in the back and a young lady was serving them. There seems to be a lot of people standing around dark gentleman in the front who was seating people, but was also on his phone a lot and walking around drinking a Chick-fil-A drink, young man, trying his hardest no one help serve his even when it was orders up, they kept ringing the bell for him to come and pick up the plates. Yet he was in the middle of taking other tables orders. There were two older ladies who sat down to roll napkins and forks, then there was the people in the kitchen trying to keep up with the cooking however, our food came out...
