Today Saturday, October 28, 2023, approximately 8am, I decided to try a new breakfast spot since I travel for work I had not seen Keke before. For the first time I dined at your establishment, Keke’s located at 2209 E. Semoran Blvd. Apopka Florida 32703. I ordered my food and ate leaving more than half. I asked the server for a takeout box and a plastic bag. I packed up my food but I had not put it into the plastic bag yet when I made a choice to utilize the restroom before leaving. I carefully placed the container of food to one side of the table with the bag next to it and placed the receipt of payment on top of the take out box because no workers were around to alert. I quickly made use of the restroom and came out to find my table completely cleared and a young man wiping the table. I asked if he took my food away. He apologized and went to the back to talk to someone. I waited patiently. I know mistakes can happen. I looked over and saw the manager. I explained the whole thing to her. As I was explaining another worker walked up with the box of food I had left on the table wrapped in the plastic bag and tried to hand it to me. I held my finger upward pointing to the ceiling and moved it back and forth and said “no, I don’t want it”, thinking it was picked up from the table to be trashed. The manager quickly chimed in I’ll make you a new one. I said,” thank you” and sat in the front to wait. Before leaving the manger then turned around and said “Don’t, you dare speak to my employees that way.” I was shocked and asked “what way?” She didn’t answer me. So, I reiterated, “I didn’t speak to your employee any kind of way.” The manager walked away and came back within 10-15 minutes, with a different bag in hand while staring me down and speaking in a gruff voice, listing all that was in the bag. I said thank you to her and sat for a second to look at inside the boxes which is my habit. Upon getting up to leave I noticed the manager glaring at me very hard with a hateful look on her face. I asked her why are you looking at me like that? She said because I had pointed my finger in her employee's face and I talked down her, which is false. I said to her I did not and you’re not behaving like a manager. To which she said “Get out of this shop, I’m going to call the police.” She actually threatened me with police! Now I’ve had two first experiences this morning. I asked her why are you calling the police? What reason do you have to call the police? She wouldn’t answer me. So, I asked again, what reason do you have to call the police? She still did not answer. So I said, is it because I’m black? She refused to talk any further and held the front door open for me to leave, which I did. Even with the mistake a employee made I was having a good experience until I encountered your manager, No name tag on. Strawberry blonde with blue eyes is all I have. Is this how your company treats paying and tipping patrons? Should I worry about being another person being manhandled by employees and police on social media because I went to have breakfast alone at your...
Read moreRestaurant review for Keke's Breakfast Cafe in Apopka Florida. Atmosphere: lacking. The stylized paintings of different Breakfast and brunch foods didn't draw the eye nor did they contribute much to the experience, however I thought it thematic that there was a painting of tomato slices when on the menu you can order a side of tomato slices. The hostess was sweet, unfortunately due to audio processing delays in my mind I didn't hear what she said as she led us to our booth, however... it was said with the cadence of a joke so I chuckled.
The menu is well organized and easy to read, no pictures. Prices are just above mid range for a breakfast/brunch place. The only part I found confusing were the choices for a build your own Breakfast plate.
The coca cola didn't taste like it was mixed properly, just tasted off.
I ordered a strawberry waffle which could have come with the pie filling type strawberries with the jelly/glaze or freshly cut. I chose fresh, with whipped cream. It came after a slight wait, but not so long that we were checking our watches. Oddly, it came with a sprig of parsley and wedge of orange? The orange I understand, Apopka is near Orlando and tourists might enjoy the novelty of the state fruit. However I found it unnecessary. The sprig of parsley was simply strange... it would have at least made a little more sense if it was a leaf of mint, if you must pair a piece of inedible raw herb with a sweet breakfast dish like a strawberry waffle. But no. It was parsley.
Unique garnish choices aside, Keke's seems like the place I would go for special occasions, like brunch on my birthday. Or mother's day. Not casually. It was not unpleasant, it simply didn't particularly...

I want to express my deepest gratitude to the incredible team at Keke’s Restaurant in Apopka for going the extra mile for my family and me. What began as a stressful and overwhelming morning quickly turned into a beautiful reminder of unconditional kindness and love.
Upon arriving at the restaurant, my son accidentally spilled coffee on me. Without hesitation, the staff responded with empathy, warmth, and patience, making sure I was okay and kindly relocating us to another table. Despite the incident, they continued serving us with the same genuine care and grace.
But their kindness didn’t stop there. When we returned to our car, we discovered the tire was completely flat. As I tried to handle it on my own, several employees came to our rescue in the hot Florida sun**. Their hospitality extended far beyond the walls of the restaurant.
A special thank you to: Betty, for your sweet and patient service to the ASR. Young Christian, who kindly offered water to me and my children. Mr. Richard, who didn’t hesitate to get on the ground and change the tire. Mrs. Lisa, who helped carry and place the new tire with such care and strength.
Your agape love a love without condition transformed a difficult day into a powerful lesson for me and my children. You showed us that even in today’s world, compassion and selflessness still thrive. May God bless each of you abundantly. You made a difference that we will never forget. Thank you, Betty, Christian,...
