Update to my update:) The new owners have really gone above and beyond to prove themselves! They want to do right by their customers and truly LISTEN to feedback. After my previous review, they brought back the pulled chicken in the laksa (vs processed) and even remembered what I shared. I've ordered many more times since, and had very consistent, delicious dishes every time. I'd highly recommend to everyone!
To the new owners - thank you for showing you care. I look forward to MANY more delicious meals 😋.
Maybe for future thought - still miss the spicy curry soup 😁😅.
‐‐-------‐------------------------------------------------------ Updated review: Since the new ownership we've continued to be regular customers. Although they no longer serve my favorite spicy curry soup I've continued to order my 2nd favorite, the laksa. Overall, food has remained consistenly good. However, tonight I was extremely disappointed with my laksa order. In all my years ordering the laksa, its ALWAYS been served with fresh pulled chicken. Tonight, the order came with processed/grubby chicken. So sad 😔... Will not be ordering as often if this is the new version...
Just for reference - while the spicy curry soup and laksa are both curry based, the spicy curry soup consisted of green veggies with no noodles.

One of my absolute favorites. Fantastic, genuine family restaurant - great customer service. Family is often cooking and will make a point to ask how you'd like it (example - spicy or not) and greet you when you walk in. My go to - laksa and spicy curry soup. The milky buns are also phenomenal! Truly a gem....
Read moreI have been searching for a place in the suburbs near where we live that serves mee goreng and laksa. If you are looking for a place with some good Southeast Asian food, I would highly recommend Satay 2 Go. The people running the restaurant were extremely nice and the food was amazing.
I am a huge fan of fried noodles (mee goreng is one of my favorites) and my girlfriend really wanted to try Laksa.
The mee goreng had a lot of really great flavors and one of the things I enjoyed the most is the texture of the noodles. It sounds silly, but you'll be surprised how often you get really oily (and soggy) fried noodles. If you can handle the heat, I suggest adding a little bit of their chili oil as well. The portion of fried noodles was also quite large!
The laksa was very good. There's something incredibly heartwarming about a bowl of laksa on a cooler day like today, it reminds me of some of the soups I would have growing up. At prior places that I have had laksa, sometimes there is a bit too much coconut milk to mask the flavor of the paste. But that was not the case here.
You have sold us on Satay 2 Go, we will be repeat customers from now on! :).
Next time I really want to try the BBQ pork buns and some of the other baked goods there... I was a bit too late and a lot of the stuff was...
Read moreI've been eating at Satay 2 Go for as long as it's been open, and it's one of my all-time favorite restaurants. They opened not too long after I'd moved to Apple Valley, and introduced me to the whole "Malaysian Hawker Stand" concept of Asian Fusion. Mixing Chinese/Japanese/Korean/Indian along with traditional Malaysian dishes - such a wide variety, and I've never had a single dish there that wasn't very good.
I've established a few favorites, though - the coconut creamy/spicy/oh-so-satisfying-on-a-winter-day Laksa, the curly, perfectly seasoned/sauced Mee Goreng, the slippery, but perfectly chewy noodles in the Singapore Chow Fun, and, of course, the Golden Milky Buns, with the buttery cream inside a soft, sweet bread, with just the hint of coconut sprinkled on it.
Corrine and Leong (and now their son, David, who we've watched grow up over these last 15+ years) are always so friendly, and even if they're completely swamped with orders, they'll take a little time to at least stick their head out of the kitchen to say "Hi!". I'm so happy that they decided to take a chance with this concept in that tiny space in a nondescript strip mall in Apple Valley, and even happier that the city has decided that they're worth supporting for all...
