Read moreI stumbled upon Fairfield while searching hotels on Expedia. I had to attend my cousin's funeral down there on 9/29/18. My second time in that area in less than two months and didn't want to stay in the hotel i was in back in August for my family reunion. That hotel need serious updating. At first I was looking for less expensive hotels in the area since my family and I were only staying the night of 9/28/18.
The area of the hotel was easy to find. Located right next to the exit for I-85 so there was no driving around "sightseeing" Archdale. LOL!!! I also like it because of the fact hat even though it's right there, it's snugged in the cut. Also the hotel looked very modern and cheerful. Upon entering, we were greeted by Gus at the front desk. He was very friendly and accommodating of the type of room we wanted. I booked a double bed room but my mother didn't want to be on the first floor. She's always been that way. LOL!! So he found us a room on the second floor near the end of the hallway which proved to be alright when we got back in later that night since we could see our car from our window. Our room was clean. The beds were finely made and the bathroom was very clean and organized for us. The temperature of the room was comfortable and you could control it with the thermostat that's located on the wall near the bathroom. The room has a microwave, mini fridge, and coffeemaker which we took advantage of the microwave and fridge. The bed was slightly firm for my liking but it served it's purpose. Saturday morning we went down for the breakfast. My mom got the full breakfast but I only had the oatmeal. I didn't want to eat knowing what was ahead for us the rest of the day but the oatmeal was good and my mom said the breakfast was delicious. The next time I'm down in the Thomasville/High Point/Archdale area I'm definitely staying here again. Hopefully for a full...
Read moreMy family of 4 arrived around 7 pm after my wife got a notification on her mobile app that the room was available and we didn't need to check in. I immediately went to the bathroom and found the toilet plugged. I then went downstairs to talk to the front desk lady. After strangely inquiring about how plugged the toilet was (it's plugged - does she think that half the poop is going to go down??), she said there was nothing she could do as the hotel was booked. She then just stood there at stared at me. Did she think a family of 4 could stay in a room with no toilet? I was stunned and asked her if she didn't see anything wrong with this situation. Was there a maintenance person who could come fix it? She said the maintenance person had gone home for the day. She actually thought we would just have to suck it up. I said we'll take our money back and we'll go somewhere else. She said she'd have to call the manager.||Back in the room she called and said she wouldn't refund the money because I had checked in at 1 pm and if I had said something before the maintenance guy left, they would have fixed it. What??? I told her we just got there and she had said hi to us on the way in no more than 20 minutes ago. She talked with the manager again and said if we left in the next 10 minutes then she would refund us. ||Absolutely horrible customer service. Unfathomable that the hotel would expect anyone to stay in a room with a no working toilet. ||Overall the hotel is average, but more expensive than other hotels in the area....
