Latest Update: I think the establishment has severely gone down in quality. I also ordered a sandwich with no onions and got a lot of onions on it. Without checking I ate it and it made me sick all night. This establishment doesn't seem to care about dietary restrictions.
Update: It seems Ikes has been working to improve staff and urgency. So much so that they have opened up for delivery with apps like doordash and Uber eats. Happy to say they're doing their best! Food is delicious and worth the 10-15 minute wait. Hopefully they will improve those wait times in the future. Still seeing issues with orders being missed. Hopefully they correct that.
Update: Had to drop my review due to bad customer service. I ordered a classic Matt Cain and I sat there for 30 minutes as people walked in and out. They forgot to make mine. There's no urgency at Ike's and the understaffed employees kept chatting behind the counter. I don't see this location being open for long as this is why other locations lost their business.
Been to several Ikes in different states and they're all equally delicious! Famous sandwiches with famously long wait times. You'll probably wait 10-20 minutes for your sandwich. 30 during the dinner rush. If you're willing to wait though, it's absolutely worth the try. I plan on coming here...
Read morePlace sucks. First of all above all, the quantity of food to price ratio is horrifyingly bad. The sub is very small length wise (and everything comes in only one size), and the amount of filling is laughable for what you are paying- and this is compared to ANY other chain sandwich shop including subway. The bacon is barely cooked microwaved and soggy- pretty much like starbucks bacon but worse. Again, absolutely laughable. The other ingredients are very similar in quality to subway, aside from the bread which (the sourdough at least) is better than subway's bread. Everything is overpriced everywhere these days but at least at some places you still get some quality and quantity for the rip off price you pay. The sandwich I got for over $15 with tax, was so small and so weak, that I legitimately felt my money was robbed from me. $5-$6 more you get a "giant" sub from Jersey Mike's which is probably 4x as much food (literally), and all the ingredients are about a minimum of 5x better. And let me be clear, a really good authentic deli sub sandwich from a good independent shop crushes Jersey Mike's...and Jersey Mike's is Godly compared to this joint, and so is Firehouse Subs. Truth is, Subway even has this place beat. And...
Read moreI never write reviews but this one was too much to pass up - sometimes it goes beyond the good.
Decided to give this place a shot for lunch, tons of good options on the menu but settled on the cheese steak which was delicious and would have warranted future visits but they really earned the 5-stars in how they operate. While eating, an elderly couple came into the store, both moving slowly and the gentleman with a walker. Mobility seemed tough so they sat at a table to look at the menu board. After noticing the man's hat and jacket (clear military veteran), a young man named Max came out from the normal cashier counter, took their order at their table, took care of their meal for them, have them a coupon for next time and brought their sandwich out when it was ready.
Really really cool to see that kind of awareness, thoughtfulness, and appreciation at a simple sandwich shop - either they train and empower their people really good or this guy just has a solid head on his shoulders but either way they have my business.
This will be my go-to sandwich shop in QC...
