I love shack shack, I eat there almost every Sunday afternoon and also get it to go.on occasion. .. But lately it has been VERY "off". I had it rated 5 stars, but have since changed the rating based on current visits. I always get the same order, hamburger with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle (yes, you have to ask for these on your burger, or it will come plain) on gluten free but, shack sauce and extra pickle on side and an order of fries .So pretty easy...as they only serve a few items, burger, chicken and a hot dog...side orders are fries or fries with cheese. The past few times it has been a hassle, this past Sunday my burger was not on a gluten free bun, even though the cashier asked if it were an allergy or preference, I stated preference since it is a sensitivity not celiac. However, my burger was served on a regular potato bun, I took the burger back and asked for a gluten free bun, as I had ordered. They took the burger and said they were going to redo it, I honestly just needed a bun, and would have switched the burger over myself. Instead, I was made to wait another 10 minutes as my boyfriend ate his burger and fries alone...we go there together on purpose...um, to eat together...our Sunday thing..but instead iI stood waiting for my food all over again, meanwhile, other orders are being churned out, and I am standing waiting for a bun. After waiting for 10 more minutes to get my food all over again, my fries where sitting "dying" on the table, My boyfriend finished his food and alas...I got my burger ...finally..and alas, left to eat cold fries and the new burger as others hovered over trying to move in on our table as my boyfriend was now finished . The facts are, shack shack is very good, but needs serious service work. This is not the first time issues have arisen due to service, I ask for sauce on side...which is an option not something I created .but often times I am left with my food exposed trying to get attention asking for sauce! since the food is not in containers and left open it gets COLD fast, so have the SAUCE and orders correct. The menu is not extensive and they are known for burgers and fries, so lets do better what you are supposed to be best at. I wish that one time I would walk in and have my order served correctly It sucks having to say "excuse me can I have sauce" and being told to wait a minute even though i t is prepared in cups already. Or ask for the correct bun after waiting in line for 14 mins then for food for...
Read moreOkay....this was just not a good experience. We had five of us and the bill was $100. Let's start with the food. It was okay. Was it better than McDonald's or Chik-fil-A? Sure. Was it enough better for the price difference? Not at all. Additionally, we ordered a "dairy-free" shake for someone in our party who is lactose intollerant. They thought it tasted really good for "dairy-free". After her body had time to process it, we are certain it was NOT dairy-free because she had a lactose intollerance attack. Now, let's talk about the atmosphere. There is outside seating which was so nice. Yet, once you go out the door, you can't go back in. Instead you have to go back to the front door and try to make your way through the crowded entry. Why is it crowded? That leads me to the service, which was terrible. First, I am ordering at a kiosk that asks me to go find a table and then come back and put in my table number before I finalize my order. There is a long line of people waiting to order. This is not a reasonable request. Oh....and there are NO table numbers. The crowd milling around the door is due to a terribly inefficient service process. They kept texting people that their orders were ready. The sandwiches were, however fries and drinks were not. This means customers are standing all around the door and counter trying to pick up orders that are not complete. Hot food is sitting, getting cold, while the remaining part of the order is still be finished. The employees finishing the sides and drinks are very backed up and can't keep up. We have heard how great The Shake Shack is but our experience was far from great. Maybe it is this location, but we won't need to try another one, anywhere. This is an extremely over-priced, underwhelming, fast food...
Read moreI am beyond stoked that a Shake Shack opened so close to my office! I fear for my stomach and wallet though, now that I don't have to make the trek into D.C. or Tysons Corner if I get that Shake Shack craving for lunch.
Opened just a few weeks, business is a-boomin'. My coworkers and I went here during the lunch hour on Wednesday, and it was packed. Thankfully, we were able to grab a table but I'd be prepared to take your lunch to go. Since it's located right next to the Pentagon City Mall, there's a mix of both locals and tourists especially large tour groups.
I ordered a Chick-n-Shack, fries, and a strawberry mint lemonade. I've had their Chick-n-Shack at the Tysons Corner location, and I love it. It rivals Chick-Fil-A's chicken sandwich. A boneless chicken breast that's cooked in a buttermilk marinade and crisp-fried, and topped with lettuce, pickles, and a buttermilk herb mayo. It's juicy, tender, and oh-so-delicious. I would recommend it to anyone.
Aside from the Chick-n-Shack, I usually get their single Shackburger, which is just a masterpiece of a burger. Maybe it's the meat-to-bun-to-condiment ratio, maybe it's the Thousand Island-style Shake Shack sauce, maybe it's the toasted and buttered bun. I don't know, but I love me a good Shakeburger. The fries - crinkle-cut style! - were delicious too. So was the strawberry mint lemonade, which is perfect for the hot summer we're about to face.
Shake Shack is one of my favorite burger joints, so I'm very pleased to see them here. Service was great; someone even came around to take...
