Haveli Indian Cuisine — Restaurant in Arlington

We visited this restaurant with family visiting from out of state and were very disappointed. The food marked as "medium spicy" was extremely hot, and some dishes like Butter Chicken were not fresh or flavorful. Dishes like Lychee Paneer felt like a risky experiment—more like try, miss, and fire. Some of us felt sick or had upset stomachs the next day, Even the kids couldn’t eat anything. I called to share our experience—not to complain, but to give honest feedback. Initially, the response was kind and they offered a refund or revisit. But in a follow-up call, the tone changed completely—I was told if no one got food poisoning, the food was fine and nothing could be done. It felt rude and dismissive, which was upsetting after trying to give constructive feedback.

I tried this place on a whim and was disappointed for several reasons: (1) Food was not cooked fresh. Tandoori chicken was dry, chaat tasted reheated, naan was crispy as if heated in a toaster. My partner joked that it tasted as if we made Indian food. (2) The bathroom had no toilet paper or anything to dry hands. (3) We found a hair in the Korma dish, and for sure wasn't ours. (4) Our kids accidentally dropped a plastic cup of water and no one came to help clean it up. As we left I was afraid someone might slip in the puddle. (5) There's a lot of room between tables, but the tables themselves are very small. ... I would recommend going to the Indian place across the street; their food is cooked fresh and has much better taste. Haveli needs to step it up, or I predict it...

If you're looking for a flavorful and authentic Indian dining experience, Haveli Indian Cuisine is a solid choice. We have had dinner there multiple times and were never disappointed. Last time, we ordered the dinner special which included two entrees, appetizer, two naan breads and desert. My wife ordered lamb korma and I got the chicken curry. Both outstanding. The menu is extensive, the flavors rich, and the naan fresh and pillowy, perfect for scooping up curry. Portions were generous and I enjoyed leftovers the next day. The staff is friendly, attentive, and very helpful in explaining menu items and offering recommendations. Great food, friendly service, reasonable prices. A must-visit for lovers of Indian cuisine...
