I have 2 dear friends celebrating their birthdays. They wanted to visit the tea room. My late husband was English so we like tea rooms. I made a reservation 3 days ahead. When we arrived there were empty tables but no one seating anyone. We waited 20 minutes before a thin blonde came to the front. I told her we had a reservation. She told me she did not care. She seated several other people and then asked me if we were going to stay. She was the most rude and obnoxious person I have met working in a restaurant. She mumbled curses at .me under her breath. Then she walked off. She was gone another 10 minutes. She came back and said "oh are you staying?". Her arrogance and rude abuse knew no bounds. We stayed because the other ladies wanted to stay. The food they ordered was good but I ordered a "high tea*. I saw another table with a high tea that was full. My High tea was a scone 4 small pieces of sandwich, a poppy seed muffin and a cup of fruit. Certainly not worth the price paid. That added to the obnoxious abusive attitude of the staff made it a place we for sure will not return. I suppose they think they are the only tea room in Arlington but there are several. This one is not worth re-visiting.

I walked in not looking at any of the reviews… I’m from Louisiana… I’ve seen Antique shops… my Aunt used to run one in Livonia until her health failed her. I’ve never seen a restaurant attached to one… *curiosity peaked* I’m of siciliano descent so I ordered the lasagna… then for dessert, the Cheesecake with the praline sauce. The lasagna was actually great. I had no complaints whatsoever… I’m not really a stickler… it’s definitely homemade and well worth the price. I wasn’t expecting fancy, but what I got was about what I expected. The cheesecake was “THE TITS”. I will be back for that. If I make friends, I’ll have tea one day.

Whether you are looking for a quaint atmosphere for a group high tea or just a meal with family or friends before doing some antique-ing, the Tin Tulip Tearoom is always a good choice. Their peach mango iced tea is a true crowd pleasure to quench your thirst. They even sell loose-leaf tea should you want to go home and brew some of your own! Sandwiches, salads, quiche and soups are always fresh and made with care. The daily soups and quiche are always fun. The staff are friendly and always greet their patrons with a smile. And if you can’t figure out what to get - order the Sampler.

My daughter and I have never had a (tea party) together and I thought this would be the perfect place to take her after doing some research. The reviews don’t lie. When you first walk in you have to go through the antique mall (restaurant is at the back). Right away I noticed the store was very clean and well organized. Once we made our way to the back, I gave the lady the name under our reservation and we were seated promptly. Although the service was pretty slow, we had a very nice waitress. We had reserved for the high tea meals for the kids and my daughter and I thought it looked very nice when they brought it out on the three tiered set. The little tea sandwiches were absolutely wonderful. Not sure what the cream and strawberry ones were about but the other ones were awesome. Now I have never had a scone before so wasn’t sure what to expect. It is now probably my most favorite dessert. They have this homemade cream and jam that pairs so well with it. My kids also loved the little variety cheesecakes that it came with. Key lime was my daughters favorite. My husband and I both had the lasagna. It came with either salad or fruit and bread. I got the house salad and added cream of potato soup. All of it was delicious. The lasagna was better then I expected. Fruit was fresh (Hubby shared). We ended up taking two boxes of to go food home. The mango tea is a must have. I asked for a to go cup cause it was so good. Overall the food was really good and it only cost us $50 to feed a family of 4 and baby. Only feedback I have is for the restaurant to invest in new high chairs. They only had two available and both had broken straps. Therefore it was very hard for us to all enjoy the meal together because our little one kept standing up in the high chair (very dangerous). Someone had to constantly walk around the antique store so the rest of us could eat. Maybe next time we will bring a stroller and use that as a high chair? We will definitely be back though :) Also as a side note, we purchased a book and piggy bank all for just $11. They had 20% off...

We waited over an hour for tea due to a short supply of tea pots. However, people that came in after us were served their tea before us. When. I finally spoke to manager he apologized and got us the tea right away so was there ever a shortage? The food also took a long time to come out and it was lukewarm so it made us wonder if it had been sitting awhile without our server noticing. Our server then came and apologized and stated the manager wanted to get us dessert for the trouble but only brought one dessert out for a party of six and it was packaged to go as requested but the ice cream had been put on and had melted completely making the dessert unable to go with us. She took another 10-15 minutes to get us the bill. We left very dissatisfied with every aspect of this visit and will not be going back even with other positive visits in the past. One really bad experience. They did say they were short staffed but that does not explain a two hour lunch experience with terrible service, lukewarn food and an ineffective/poorly...
