My family of four visited Troy’s restaurant on a Saturday afternoon about 3:00.
Check arrived, we had a coupon which we placed along with our credit card in the check folder. Waitress came back and had not taken the coupon off. She apologized and took the check folder along with our card to deduct the coupon amount.
She came back, my husband promptly opened the folder and there was no credit card only the receipts. The waitress was standing there watching and quickly shuffled the receipts assuming the card was underneath. She hurried away to look for it.
She returned a few minutes later to say she retraced her steps and could not find the card. She then went into an explanation that she did not even need to pull the credit card out of the folder. This is because she did not need to utilize the card in order to apply the discount. Therefore she could not have lost the card. She also advised they called security to help look for it.
She returns 10 minutes later to clear the table. Dumbfounded we asked where the credit card was. She said they were looking for it. Our waitress had just gone back to work.
The manager finally showed up and said “so the side of the story I have been told is that the card was given back to you but you cannot find it”. We both said no, the card was given to the waitress to pay the bill, when she returned it was not returned to us. The manager went on to defend this side of the story that we were the only table our waitress had at the moment. They had retraced her steps which was easy since she had not traveled very far. They were going to continue to look for it but the attitude was as if we had something to do with this or were mistaken. Her demeanor was like that of a parent trying to work out a fight between children.
They took our contact information and we finally decided to give up on it being found.
As we are walking out they found it and the manager rushed up to catch us. We then received an apology for the first time.
After all of this where was it ultimately found? On the OTHER side of the restaurant on the FLOOR.
The lack of concern was disturbing. We were on vacation and had they not found our card or had we not had another credit card we would be stuck. You cannot book a hotel without a credit card, you cannot book a car without a credit card. It could have turned into a major issue for us.
The amount of the bill was $55.20 before the $10 coupon. This event happened because she went to correct this. She also defended she did not lose the card because she did not have to take the card out to correct it. While sitting in the restaurant waiting for them to look for the card we called to put a freeze on the card. When we called to remove the freeze the agent advised the last charge was from Troy’s in the amount of $55.20. She did not even correct the amount.
Food was fine, service fine but would never return. There are way too many places in this area to ever...
Read moreI give 3 stars because of the customer service ONLY (Preston was our sever)! Tuesday June 4th, 2019... This was me and my fiances 1st time to Troy's. Honestly, it's a nice environment, and if we did return it would be for drinks only. The food wasn't good at all... We like to share several plates, as we are foodies, and we were really looking forward to the unique menu options.
*1st dish was the Artichoke Dip, the dip was great & hot but the chips were cold and stale and the bread tasted like it was once frozen then microwaved. *2nd dish was Cod Bahn Mi (grilled)... the idea was interesting, but it tasted bland, bread was hard and the fish did not taste fresh. *3rd and final dish was Korean Bbq Burger, again, it is an interesting idea... I was very excited to try this as we are huge Koren BBQ fans. I requested my burger to be medium well...when we got it, it was RARE! Talk about stomach twister. My stomach was already kinda upset from the cod, and now this. The buns were soaked and soggy from their sauce and the kimchi tasted old and soggy vs crisp (I make kimchi often, so it was a familiar "been in the fridge a while" taste). The server offered to remake it, but I told him I wouldn't touch it being that I was feeling sick from it all.
Needless to say, we couldn't even enjoy our beers at the field because of the food. We ended up having to sip sprite and leave early. I then came into work at 0600 sick to my stomach still. I am a police dispatcher and can't leave my area every 5 mins for this. We plan on going to the game again tonight, so that we can enjoy a game without feeling sick, but we will NOT eat around there again, we will bring our own cooler and food...
Read moreGreat atmosphere for game day. Yet so packed and crowded that getting any kind of actual service is not gonna happen. The menu isn’t that great. We had a pretzel appetizer that was dry and bland. They brought no plates. No napkins and no silverware with our pretzel. Several minutes after we received it we were given some kind of shredded cheese as a dipping option. I ordered the pimento burger being the plainest burger on the menu. It was brought out to temperature and seemed fine but had a strange odor. I chalked it up to the pimento. My small plastic cup filled with ice and 4oz of soda was never refilled. We were there an hour. One drink. No refill.
Dry pretzel. Huge burger and waffle fries. And 4 oz of soda to wash it all down. I had one bite of the pretzel. Ate 1/3 of the burger. Paid. Tipped $10. Then went up to Loews and puked my guts out for 20 minutes.
Live music was great. Server was either aloof or just too busy. Not her fault. She can only be as good as she is trained. I wanted to ask for a manager but felt the sickness coming so I just left. This type of establishment strikes as the type to get by off of location and name solely. Id rather have day old...
