Good ice cream, not the best customer service.

My wife and I went one Monday night for some late night (around 9PM) ice cream.

I had a young lady taking my order when I asked her to give me vanilla ice cream with kit kat. She then proceeded to put pecans in the ice cream. I corrected her on it and apologized if I was not super clear the first time. She did not seem happy at all and actually seemed quite grumpy about it. I apologized again as I was about to pay, since she did not seem to lighten up, and once again she was a bit rude.

On the other hand, my wife had a young man doing her ice cream and he was much friendlier. The only thing was that my wife had ordered the take home size, the “everyone” icecream. She ordered a few toppings on it including cookie dough, chocolate chips, and chocolate syrup. Well, the young man serving her did not mix enough ice cream the first time, which he noticed. So he put in the original amount he mixed and then slopped on top an unmixed set of just ice cream. Not a huge deal, we were grateful he did not leave it half empty, but definitely lazy.

The ice cream tasted great though, just not the best service.

My husband and I frequent this location quite a lot since it is so close to our house. The staff used to be really good and friendly, but seems like that has changed a lot. Hard to get acknowledged anymore and they seem to care more about getting the to-go orders ready than waiting on people actually standing there. The ice cream is always very good. We went there on Sunday. The girl ringing out the customers overcharged us. It would help that they verify what you have ordered before they assume what you have ordered. Unfortunately, I did not catch it in time before the transaction was completed. We had used a gift card and paid the difference on a debit card. The "manager" voided out the ice cream that was wrong, rerang it and said we owed $6 more! How could we owe more when we got overcharged in the first place? I tried explaining to her that we had used a gift card and paid the rest with debit and that we should be getting a little bit back. She never did understand about the gift card, got flustered, and finally told us to just forget it that we could have a "free" ice cream. Like I said, we will go back for the ice cream, but the staff could seriously use more training and customer...

To the manager…I was there this past weekend. It appears the teenagers don’t learn simple math at school so you may need to teach them that when you hire them. Weird, yet true. After my son and I ate, I went back up to order something to go for my son that was at home. The total was 6 something and I had $4 in bills and the rest in change. They could not count the change. Looked perplexed. $2 of it was in quarters. One girl counted it then got another girl asking for help. They looked as if they’d seen a ghost. The one girl was like umm are those quarters or nickels. VERY scary that teenagers cannot count money and use simple addition. After going over it multiple times they decided I owed 20 more cents, which I knew I didn’t, but at that point I was in such awe that the girls could’t count I just paid it.
