Waited over an hour for our food that was wrong when it arrived. They left my sides and took back my main. After waiting 25 minutes I asked my server to check on the food and if she could bring me fresh mashed potatoes. The GM Dennis brings out the main and says, "Now your potatoes are cold?" I said yes, they've been sitting here and I'd like fresh ones to eat with my main." He took the bowl the original potatoes were in and went into the kitchen. The re-fire of my main, was so slopped together, the modiga sauce was like soup. And it looked as if they just added mushrooms, and scrapped the cheese off. After about 5 minutes he returns to my table and hands me the mashed potatoes. I cut a piece of chicken, and got some mashed potatoes and put them in my mouth to find out they were extremely hot. So hot, I burnt my tongue and now was unable to eat anything. I called him over when I saw him to ask why he wouldn't have told me these were scolding hot. His response was, "I didn't know I needed to remind you to check if your food is ready to eat. First they were cold, now they are too hot, I don't know what you want me to do." I said to him, a heads up would have been nice and courteous that the food was scolding hot. I was appalled at his response considering all the facts. Usually you are warned when something is very hot. But he didn't think that was his responsibility. In fact, I believe he deliberately put them in the microwave for 5 minutes because he was mad that I dare asked for warm sides since they sat for over 25 minutes. He left and I told my waitress, I am not paying for this. Then Dennis came back to my table and said now your not paying for your food, I said no since I can't eat it now. I was putting ice cubes in my mouth to stop the burning. He said I apologize that your food was wrong. Then offered to give me reward dollars to compensate for my issue. I told him, I don't want anything extra, I just wish he would have told me the food was dangerously hot. Again, he said to me, "I didn't know I needed to remind you to check to make sure your food is safe to eat, I ALWAYS check mine before I eat it, you should have done the same." I said to him, then tell me how you check your food. He said I look for steam, I said there wasn't any, and typically, the waitstaff, the food runner, will let you know its very hot." He said, sorry, not my responsibility. Then he left again. As we were sitting there waiting for the other bills, there was a table there who started saying things to me calling me a Karen. Not once did I raise my voice, or cuss, or do anything that would constitute me being "Karen", and I told them to mind their own business, and stay out of it. They didn't like that I chimed back to their comments and it they decided to move. Then he came back, gave me a bill, and told me I need to pay this and NEVER come back. I asked if he was serious. He said, I shouldn't have made a scene and caused his patrons to want to move over some hot mashed potatoes. I told him, that was not true, I made no scene, in fact, I believe I was being quite respectful and calm considering what was/had happening. I asked him for his boss's name and number. He told me I am not giving you either, in fact. He said if I'd like, I can call him at the Wentzville location at 6AM - 7AM and he might or might not answer. But that it wasn't necessary, he already called him and told him the situation and he told me to tell you to pay and NEVER come back. That, I believe was a lie, he wasn't gone long enough to make a phone call, move the mouthy customers, and bring me my bill. It was only a few minutes between all of that. If Dennis is really the GM, they might want to think about removing him from that position, he has absolutely no business managing a business with those responses. He was not helpful, very rude, smug, and condescending. And if he continues to treat customers this way, they will also make the decision to...
Read moreOur large group of 20+ cousins and other relatives all met up mid-afternoon on a Saturday at The Local House Restaurant & Bar for an extended-family gathering just 10 days before Christmas.
We sat in the front corner of the large barroom with several high top tables and chairs pushed together, just like a big family dinner table. The corner of the barroom provided us with a more intimate setting that really worked well for us.
The atmosphere at The Local House is casual, laid-back, and comfortable. Music and conversations filled the air in the busy barroom. It was a bit loud, but our seating arrangement allowed us to easily carry on our own conversations to catch up on each other's lives.
In the hours our family enjoyed together there, we ordered drinks and food, and more drinks ...and more food. 😄 EVERYTHING I tasted was really very good!
The menu offers a wide selection of appetizers, salads, pizzas, wraps, sandwiches, burgers, pasta, entrees (including various options for steaks, chicken, pork chops, and seafood choices), also dessert options, a kid's menu, and, of course, LOTS of thirst-quenching beverages for all ages and tolerances. Truly a menu that's sure to please any palate!
My Bloody Mary was really fantastic! I asked to have it made with cucumber vodka and it did NOT disappoint! 😋 It arrived quickly in a tall, cold glass rimmed with coarse salt, speared green olives, and a refreshing slice of lime. That drink went down so smooooooth! 🤩 The kick of spice it delivered was just enough to make you want to go right back for another delicious sip...cheers! I had arrived to the gathering much later than the others in our group; and, I tell you, I DEFINITELY wish I'd had the time to stay for more than one of those Bloody Marys! 😍
The Toasted Raviolis were made perfectly! They were served piping hot with a tangy, chunky marinara sauce. Many restaurants tend to overcook T-Ravs making them really hard around the edges, but these were made just right...crispy, but not tough. 👍
I, myself, enjoyed a delicious, flavor-filled, thick burger cooked medium-well, and topped with sauteed mushrooms, a generous splash of tasty brown gravy, and on top, smoothly-melted, hot, gooey, provel cheese...ohhh my! The tasty bun held up extremely well against all those juicy toppings, but did not distract from the main event. That burger was hot, savory, melt in your mouth yummy! SO good! 😍 I was really tempted to eat ALL of that large, delicious burger, lol; but instead, I saved more than enough for a tasty lunch the next day. 🤓💡🎓👍
As the side with my burger, I chose the freshly-made "kettle" chips. They were not sliced paper-thin, nor were they too thick...again, just right! (My gosh, I'm beginning to sound like Goldilocks! 👱♀️🐻🐻🐻 😅🤣😅) Those flawlessly salted chips were lightly fried and delicately crispy, not crunchy...crispy! They too were fabulous!
And last, but certainly NOT least, our server, Alex, was personable, good-natured, and fun! He gave our large group exceptional, warmhearted, and attentive service throughout our occasion. Alex was "adopted" by our family and is welcomed to join our next family gathering! 😄
To Alex B: Thank you for your hard work and cheerful attitude; you really are "Alexander the Great"! 🙂
To the Cooks and Bartenders: You sure do know your crafts! From start to finish, a top-notch, scrumptious meal! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
To the Management: Thank you for providing such a lovely gathering spot. We'll definitely be coming back again...
Read moreAfter the experience tonight, I will not be returning. First, I will say I do love the food here and that is way I have continued to order from here despite several poor service mistakes in the past. I called an order in tonight at 5:15pm and spoke with Mysteria who took my order and said it would be ready in about 25 minutes. I order from here pretty often, so I know all too well to NEVER trust the estimated time given for to go orders. It always takes an hour or more. Because of this fact I have learned from every other time I have called in an order, I waited until 6pm before even attempting to walk in to pick up my order to avoid the usual 30-minute wait after arriving. However, tonight when I arrived and explain I was there to pick up my order I was left to sit for 20 minutes while they attempted to look for the ticket for my order. Finally, a girl came out to tell me that they did not have any orders under my name. I explained I could show her on my caller ID that I made a call to this phone number at 5:15 and spoke with Mysteria. The host sent her to check another area and when she returned again, I was told the kitchen had not found my ticket. By this time, I had now wasted another 35 minutes in the restaurant, to be told she could go ahead and put my order in now and take my payment. (So, I can wait another hour for the food to be prepared) Since it has now been an hour and a half since I called in my order, and it had not even been started I asked to speak to a manager. I was told that the owner Chris was on the line cooking and could not take the time to speak to me. Never once was I offered anything to rectify the mistake or show they were attempting to make right by the situation or inconvenience of the time I spent waiting. I just said never mind and left to find a drive thru so I could get dinner home to my son. I wish I could say this is the first time this happened to me here, but it is not. I experienced a very similar experience several months ago where I was forgotten about at the curbside for 2 hours. Clearly my business does not matter to them so I will take my biweekly to go orders elsewhere in the future. So, if you like to wait for 1-2 hours for your food and receive poor customer service this is the...
