Steak 'n Shake — Restaurant in Arnold Township

Took my kids in to eat on Saturday so my grandson orders a hotdog kids meal and gets mini corn dogs instead so I order the shooters but don't get. any cheese so throughout eating our food the waitress comes to the table and ask if we would like a refill on our water didn't have water had Sprite so we decided to order shakes my daughter order chocolate fudge brownie my grandson order m-m shake I order chocolate so 20 minutes later when the shakes arrive my daughters shake was chocolate so I ask the waitress she ordered the chocolate fudge brownie so she proceed to tell me all I heard was chocolate First of all you need to pay attention to what your guest order and don't talk back to your guest. Not a sign of a good waitress When she did come to table she would always ask if we would like a refill on our water once again we had Sprite So when I went to pay my bill I had mention to the cashier about how poor my service was and she had ask who was my server so I told her who she was all she could say oh she's new not the answer I was looking for. Apparently Steak n Shake is ran by kids on the weekend I didn't see any mature adults their at all. Looks like they need someone to babysit them while they work or get someone in their who know how to do the job correctly My whole experience was horrible so I wouldn't recommend eating their if kids are running it .... Stopped here after a concert on Saturday 28, 2017 and the only girl truly working was this employee named Alexis. Honestly the only good employee there. This guy threw up and she was taking care of someone else but when she was done she picked it up. She did a fantastic job helping my party of 6 out with all we needed.

After we were done eating we stood at the counter for a literal 10 minutes (yes I timed it) and the kitchen crew just stared at us. As the manager just stated on the office the entire time till the girl who didn't know how to use the register asked him to help her. Then he came up and was super rude. He act like he didn't want to be there (and I get it your tired but there is no reason to treat people who pay you rudely.)

Summary: On Saturday 28, 2017 at night (about midnight) Alexis worked her butt off to make sure her customers were happy she needs a raise. She even picked up throw up. Then went to get cashed out and it took them 10 minutes to get anyone up there as kitchen crew just stared at us. Then someone came up and she didn't know how to work it. The workers closed half of the restaurant at 7:30 but put up no signs explaining it was closed, so my friend and I sat down in the “closed” section to eat our food. We could hear the employees in the kitchen talking about making us move and kept staring at us throughout the entire meal. No one asked us to move or told us the area was closed until the manager came over and rudely asked us to throw away our trash in a different section since we sat in the “closed area”. I went to talk to the manager about how I was upset by the way her and her staff handled the situation and she started shouting at me as all of the employees came out to stare at us. Being in the food industry, I was absolutely disgusted by the way the situation was handled and would’ve never spoken to a guest the way the senior employees did. I would’ve happily moved if I had been asked I would never want to cause an issue that could easily be resolved. Plus the audacity of them to ask for a tip on the kiosk machine without a single employee assisting me sent me over the edge. I will never return to...
