M's Kitchen has a decent size menu, a lot to choose from. Although, I usually get pretty much the same thing because they are good.
Monica, the owner is very friendly and accommodating.
Salt & pepper pork chop is one if my husband's favorite. We like it EXTRA EXTRA spicy and they delivered. If you don't Ike spicy food, don't worry, the unaltered dish is not spicy(white pepper kind of spicy).
String bean is one of my favorites, the beans are usually crunchy, flavorful and it goes well with white rice.
We also like scramble eggs with shrimp. Soft scramble eggs with succulent shrimp compliment each other.
Another dish I also like is Garlic sprouts with Chinese sausage. The sausage is similar to chorizo, the saltiness & the firm texture. When pair with the garlic sprouts, it provides a light garlicky taste and the neutralize some of the saltiness. It also goes well with rice.
There is a trend here, yes, I like my dishes with white rice, it brings out the flavor to a different level, more so than the fried rice.
The last dish I will mention is the beef with chili pepper(I forgot the exact name,辣椒牛肉絲 is the Chinese name). Moderate thinly sliced beef comes out very tender and flavorful, pair with the meaty chili peppers' crunchiness is perfect & yes, it goes well with white rice.
Tea is the choice of my drink, it takes away some of the greasy feeling(if u find Chinese food a bit greasy) and it also acts as a palate cleanser which allows you to enjoy the true flavor of your next bite.
They have outdoor sitting and the owner bring hand sanitizer to the table, that's a plus. They also do take out and offers a cup of free green ice tea with 30 dollars purchase.
M's offers many more other dishes & is waiting for you to discover.
BTW, my husband is white and I am a Chinese born in Taiwan, also a picky eater, M's can fulfill my Chinese food(stir fried) cravings! Great job, Monica and hats off to the chef , whom usually needs a break after cooking the extra extra spicy prokchop because the fume.
Hope you enjoy your food as...
Read moreOh May, my love souffle.
Or, I should say, my love chao siu bao.
Yet another great lunch spot in the 562, May's Kitchen offers delicious Chinese food (my fav) at affordable prices. Closing for lunch at 2:30pm, then reopening for dinner at 4pm, I managed to be the sole lunch diner before the midday break.
Perusing the lunch specials, which include soup, rice and hot tea, I requested the pork with bittermelon.
"We don't have."
Shucks! Okay, Plan B (No, not the morning after pill ;p ). Bamboo shoots with shredded pork sounds good. I'll have that.
Yes, Cerritos! Crunchy bamboo shoots with tender pork. If you listen closely, you can hear an "oink" with every bite ;p I enjoyed the taste and portions of my meal. The soup was hearty and sour, which I love. Lots of white rice, of which I will use to make fried rice later. Plus, the complimentary hot tea made me a May's Kitchen convert.
Tables are available for seating, accommodating around 30 people.
Near the entrance to the restroom, there is a semi-private VIP table. I'm not sure if people can make reservations, but it's good to know you can have a meal with all of your mahjong buddies. Speaking of restroom, the men's restroom was clean, with no vandalism. It's nice to see, since vandalized restrooms disgust me. Destroying people's property = no bueno.
Parking is plentiful in a private lot, shared with Pizza Hut, Kim Tar, Sona Chaandi and other businesses. Service was with a smile.
I'm definitely coming back! The food's good, the prices are great and it's so close and convenient. I'm a fan, for...
Read moreI went out on a limb tonight, sometimes you have to do that to find those little "hole in the wall" places that make awesome food. I read 2 other past reviews, the place seemed legit. I called in an order for pick-up. I walked into a weird smelling restaurant, like not a food smell....I don't know what it was. Anyways, very friendly welcome by 2 employees, so service was on point. I got home, unpacked my groceries and was anticipating some awesome orange chicken. The flavor was GREAT! But, they don't trim their chicken good enough, BAH! I couldnt make it through 3 pieces without the urge to hurl. I put it in the fridge to give to my co-worker tomorrow. Too bad, because the flavor was SO GOOD! It was crispy and glazed. I wouldn't say it had any "orange" taste really, but it was a good flavor. More like a house chicken flavor I have tasted at Pick-up Stix before....
