Golden Waffle — Restaurant in Asheboro

Okay. So my husband, my daughter and I went to eat here today. The food, eh. It is good. But the portions were a little small. That’s besides the point here.. the point of my 2-2.5 star review is baffling. So back story! my daughter was on doctors orders to drink WATER because she was dehydrated and they couldn’t take blood from her. They told her to hydrate all weekend, and bring her after school Monday to try again once she’s hydrated. The doctor strictly said pedialyte, Gatorade and water. So how about when my husband ordered water from this restaurant for our daughter, the waitress LITERALLY had the audacity and turned to my kid after we all ordered and said “Are you sure that’s what you want to drink” in a condescending tone. As if she assumed my husband was attempting to be controlling? From there, it kind of seemed like she was talking about it at the station or something, that part I could be over thinking but it was all around really uncomfortable and unprofessional. I shouldn’t have to even explain this, but it really REALLY ticked me tf off! So parents, be sure not to order water for your kid when you...

Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice and three times, I'll never enter foot in your establishment again. My husband and I used to eat here every Friday night. And that was even after a fly crawled out of my grilled chicken chef salad. I just switched to a bacon and cheese omelet from then on. Then a couple months ago another customer, while sitting beside me at the bar (no food - drink only) was allowed to tell us that her daughter (no food or drink) could continue to beat the day light out of the tabletop because "she (the little girl)was there before us" after I simply asked her to stop after it went on for awhile. I swore this place off after this. Well tonight after not going here for a couple months, I said, let's give them one more chance. Well, as we approached a booth that a waitress was cleaning, she looked across the room and said "ya'll coming?" A couple who was sitting across the room at a booth picked up their drinks and silverware and headed to the booth I was standing at. We went back to the door to wait for another booth to open up but then made a better decision to go to IHOP...

Great breakfast nook. Obviously has been here for a long time. Really busy which is a plus and a minus .. Service was really prompt. No problems with the food. They had swiss cheese to put in my omelette and I liked that. Coffee was good & they really kept on top of keeping it full. Did I say it was really busy? A solid 4 for a daily diner.. 4-25-25 update. Family and I went there one of the rare times we could find a parking spot. The chop sirloin steak was really good I enjoyed it. No problems. Good service & very reasonable. Tight elbow room at the table. Before a place design 51 years ago what can you expect! If it wasn't so hard to get in this place, cuz it's so busy I would come more often! They have a nice Friday night special For a meat and three vegetables for right at ten dollars.
