Great bar for anyone NOT from North Carolina. If you are a local, stay away! This place is not for you. Went there on a Sunday to watch the Panthers game. Seeing as how we’re in North Carolina I figured that shouldn’t be a problem. In a place with some 9 TV’s only the smallest one in the furthest corner had the Panthers game on. At one point I looked out the window thinking I had a better chance of seeing the game live at the stadium 2 hours away than I did seeing it on a TV at this bar. Mean while a classless troll dressed in Buffalo Bills attire stubbles around the dining room embarrassing herself and cursing at everyone around her. Anyway. Great food, great service, and one of the worst operationally run bars I’ve ever seen (I’ve been in the F&B business for 30 years so I’m not just an angry customer, I actually know what I’m talking about). Having seen this place had a pretty good set of reviews here on Google, me and the wife decided to give it a shot for our anniversary. This was a mistake. Why was it a mistake, you ask? Well, I can't tell you about their food or drinks. They may be fantastic, but I wasn't afforded the opportunity to find out. We came in and sat down. It was 20 minutes before someone came by with menus. When they finally did, my wife and I asked for a glass of water to get started while we perusing the menu. We had been out in the sun all day touring Biltmore and the surrounding area. Waiter looked a little annoyed but said okay. 20 minutes later we walked out, having seen the waiter filling drink orders for folks that came in after us. We went down to to another local establishment, got seated, and had water in 2 minutes, drinks and appetizers in 7, and food in 20. Don't waste...

I have lived in asheville since the seventies and i have came upon a place I never knew could be the real charm of Asheville . i ate on Saturday night with some buddies and we had a wonderful meal and enjoyed the company of others. it was like the whole bar welcomed you in not just the bar keepers and servers ... the food was great but above all the people and atmoshpere was superb!

at age 76 it was nice to feel welcomed in a place full of younger folks ... i will make this my regular bar stop from now on !

and btw the best damn wings i have ever tasted and for the chef to come down and ask us if our food was ok ... wow you just dont see that anywhere else anymore . THANK YOU ! YOU MADE MY EVENING LIL BRIGHTER FOR BEING...
