Cheddar's has improved since my visit 10 months ago. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to rate 5 stars. But let's start with the good news. Our waitress was nice, attentive, and very pleasant. She attended the table often, not even asking if we needed more drinks, but just seeing our glasses were low and getting us a refill. I had a classic burger, my wife had the tenders dinner, and our daughter the chicken sandwich. Our food arrived in a short amount of time. Our waitress brought us the complimentary croissants, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The sweetness of the butter on the croissant was surprisingly good. Although the butter turned into more of a pastry, it was a good appetizer. Unfortunately, that was the best part of the meal. My burger was slightly above average, not the best burger I ate, not the worst, but better than some. Please do not squish the patty on the grill, all you're doing is forcing the juices out! I'd rather wait that extra minute to get done than eat a dry burger. My daughter said about the same for her chicken sandwich, slightly bland, but average. My wife said her tenders just wasn't very tasty at all. The restaurant appeared clean, however the floor underneath out table was sticky. It's kind of annoying knowing your shoes are sitting in something while you eat. Finally, I can appreciate Cheddar's trying to enhance the décor by placing potted plant everywhere. But those plants perched on the half-walls above our head just look dangerous. If someone were to fall into that pot and it would fall on a customer, that could result in serious injury or worse. I'd take those down tonight if I were...
Read moreLet me start by saying that I hate I have to even give you a single star. I came in to get food and drinks with my girlfriend. I started off by asking my server if it was OK if we ordered drinks because it was late and the place seemed kinda dead and she said that it was fine, that the bar was still open. So I ordered some drinks and the bartender ends up throwing a fit about my drinks talking about how "it's such a big deal" and "of course we only order after she just put everything up". So when my server brings my appetizer out I tell her that its incredibly rude for the bartender to talk about me like that while I'm only a few feet away and she shyly apologizes. She informs me that if I want patron and cactus juice it would be an upcharge and I tell her that's fine. She hurries off to tell the bartender which, At this point continues to talk disrespectfully about me and my drinks but she does it at a lower volume. So me and my girlfriend go to confront her and find out what the big deal is and why she's having a fit and she tells us that we are liars and she wasn't talking about us. So when we asked for a manager a man came out with the expression that he was already tired of hearing what I had to say before i even spoke. He basically just shrugged off everything i said and gave a cheap apology and pretended to care and then just walked off without a word to the bartender. At this point our drink was brought out and we realized our drink wasn't even made with patron or any liquor at all. We decided that it wasn't worth it for us to stay or ever return. This place has gone...
Read moreI don't know why I still bothered to try and eat here when I know better of this location.
Sat down ordered two platters of chicken tenders and a salad. Salad came quick. Server seemed on top of it and our experience was great. Time began to drag on waiting on our food, we got to watch everyone around us eat and leave even those who arrived after we did. The server told us they lost our ticket in the kitchen— where that becomes my problem, I don't know cheddars.
She came back and essentially took our order again asking sides and sauces. Which it's great knowing my food will be fresh and come out but at the cost of waiting at least a solid 30-40 minutes for a plate and losing most of my appetite in the process due to the impatience that developed.
We ate, awesome. Server seemed to drop the ball at the end of this experience as I had hot sauce, we both acknowledged I needed another drink and it was forgotten and by time she came back we were ready for a box.
Bill comes, I don't want to pay for full service meal if my food service sucked and the server explicitly blamed the kitchen for losing our ticket— whether that was a lie is between front and back of house.
Tim the manager did not show face when I complained requesting my bill to be lightened up. She proceeds to come back and tell me that he said it was because it's a Saturday and that's why. My gripe with that reasoning is the bold statement of the kitchen losing our ticket.
Things like this are inhospitable and rude. I wanted it to be a pleasant experience but it quickly went downhill and was...
