Would not recommend for anyone, if you seriously want sonic, itās probably worth the drive to another one because youāre going to spend the same amount of time just waiting in line at this one. (To long; didnāt read at the end) Iām a fast food worker as well, we only have one drive thru where I work and Iām lead cashier, so Iāve definitely had to make people wait a bit longer than I like in order to get to everyone else. Iām also the same person who answers the phone to take orders and takes orders through lobby. I always, even if thereās a customer in front of me, greet the drive thru and ask them to look at the menu if I need to get something before taking their order. Iām not saying all fast food places are the same obviously, but when I pulled in, tired after my shift, it wasnāt busy and all I wanted was a small breakfast item and a coldbrew. It took ages for anyone to greet me, and when they did, it was after I piped up with a āhello?ā And was greeted with a āIām making ice cream, hold onā This didnāt bother me, I understand how difficult it is to do multiple things at once, but they still werenāt busy at this point. When I finally got to order, I asked for something a bit new than what I usually get, which was a little bit of sugar to my drink. I donāt usually get this, Iām not a huge sweet tooth person, but I thought a little bit would help brighten up the bitter taste of the coffee a bit. I was given my drink when I arrived to the window, so I had a chance to try it while waiting on my food and it was far too sweet. I had realized my mistake, so I waited until the drive thru person arrived again with my food to ask for a new one. I asked if there had been any flavoring in it since it tasted so sweet, and the drive thru acted as if I was accusing them of something, getting really defensive over not putting any flavoring in there because I had asked. I said āno no, thatās what I wanted! I made a mistake, i donāt mind paying for a new one, but could I get a new drink without sugar? Sorryā I really didnāt want to be a bother, but they acted like I was, and said they didnāt know. The window then closed, and the drive thru person walked over to what I assume is the manager and started swinging their arms all annoyed like. I just say there, waiting, and when they arrived back they poured a new drink, handed it to me, and shut the window without anything else to say. I had my food at that point, so I just left, feeling way worse about myself than I had before. My recommendation? Donāt go here. I love sonic, and the foods fine, but the service is awful. I went through drive thru and the rudest drive thru worker I ever meet was the one talking to customers. I use to work fast food many years ago while I was in high school and I know sometimes you get a rude customer or whatever but I said absolutely nothing out of the way to this girl. As I said Iāve worked on the other side and seen things happen to rude customers orders. I was trying to be as nice as possible but she made it very difficult. I didnāt see a name but she had a tattoo on her lower arm. I think her left arm but couldnāt tell what it was. I looked like someone drew on her with an ink pen. Idk if sonic records the drive thru interactions but they should definitely listen when she is working cause I canāt be the only one. Just an example after I ordered 2 slushies and she rang it up she told me to pull forward. I noticed on the screen there was only one so I ask nicely ādid you get 2 slushies?ā Her response was ā I am trying if you would get me just a secondā this one just one small example but the whole interaction went this way she had a huge attitude and very disrespectful. Ā Ā Ā Read moreI think my server was drunk or high, either one. Ordered at a kiosk and the only thing right was the burger. Tried to order fries, they rang me up for tots. Wanted a recharger, they tried to give me sprite. I wanted a small pickle fry? No, they rang it up as being a medium. When the recharger apparently didnāt count as part of the combo after I corrected her three times about the drink being wrong, apparently she decided to cancel my entire order and had a different person take over. Had to repeat everything again and this time my order wasnāt on screen at all. Still sitting at my kiosk, hoping my actual order went through. And if it didnāt, holy wow I am never coming back. Time will tell.
Edit: 40 minutes, no food. Pressed the button and waited another 10 minutes with no response at all. When I finally get an answer, Iām told that they are currently āslammed.ā They werenāt slammed enough to not serve the multiple cars that have pulled up on either side of me. Overheard an employee speaking to another customer say that they are completely unorganized. Still hungry, still waiting.
Called it after an hour wait. At least five other cars that arrived before me left with their food while I was waiting for mine. A very good reminder to never come here. Will also be leaving a review via the QR code...
