After having visited Turkey a few years ago, I really, really wanted to love this place and make it a regular spot, but I have to be honest -- the food honestly wasn't very good. I do understand that today was their opening day, but even so, they still totally dropped the ball. Regardless of the circumstances, it just should not have been this bad. My chicken doner sandwich was carelessly thrown together with not nearly enough meat (and it was virtually tasteless, besides). The falafel was the worst I've ever had -- it was like eating gravel. I didn't bother to finish it. Lastly, the baklava was too dry on the top layers, and burned on the bottom. Only the middle layers were ok to eat. The bottled water was even warm! Again, I am aware that it was their first day, but my experience with them was plain unacceptable, in any case. Do better!
Oh, if you're wondering why I didn't confront them with this poor excuse for Turkish food, it's because I get nothing but excuses and apathy whenever I do call out a business, so I simply leave a review to let others know and I simply never patronize that...
Read moreI recently tried your shawarma, and as someone who has enjoyed this dish for many years, I must say I was not very pleased. The seasoning felt rather plain and did not have the rich, balanced flavor I am used to. A shawarma should carry its spices well, but this one lacked that depth.
Also, the wrap itself was too soft. When I tried to take a bite, it fell apart easily, making it difficult to eat properly. A good shawarma wrap should be soft yet firm enough to hold everything together without breaking apart.
I share this not to complain, but in hopes that you might take it into consideration to improve. Shawarma is a beautiful dish when made right, and I would love to see it prepared with stronger flavors and a sturdier...
Read moreThis place is amazing. Definitely in my top five places to eat in Green Bay already. People around here need to wake up. This place, and their other restaurant that is just down the road, are two of the very best in town. The other place, Taste of Istanbul, specializes in seafood and it's the best in the area by a mile. This place is great in is own way. Large portion sizes for the platters Beef and chicken carved off the spit right in front of you. The food is all super healthy. Best hummus I've ever tasted. Get that instead of French fries as a side....
