Overall Mandarin Gardens is one of my favorite restaurants in Green Bay. I honestly go back time and time again due to the consistency of the meals. I have tried many items on the menu and they are all excellent or very good. My absolute favorite item is sesame chicken. They do it best in all of Green Bay.
This particular visit, my partner and I tried new items on the menu. We first ordered the Pu Pu Tray for Two as an appetizer (see image below). This included 2 egg rolls, 2 crab meat rangoon, 2 paper wrapped chicken, 2 butterfly shrimp and 2 teriyaki beef sticks. We usually don't like egg rolls but these were not bad. There was no actual crab meat in the rangoons but they were pretty good. The wrapped chicken was plain - could have used a sauce on the side. OH MY GOSH the teriyaki beef sticks were to DIE FOR! They were sooooo good, we wish we ordered an entire side of them. Next time we go we definitely will!
For the main entree, we split the Hot Pot Delight (see image below). This included shrimp, scallops, chicken and crab meat with vegetables cooked in a brown sauce served on a fire plate. The shrimp, chicken and vegetables were all very good and cooked great. I did not enjoy the scallops however, they were mushy and I wouldn't recommend preparing them in this way. The crab meat was ok, I couldn't tell if it was real or imitation. It didn't do much for me. The sauce was ok - slightly on the salty side, could be improved.
The overall atmosphere is very casual, which I love you can stop in wearing anything. There is one waitress who is always there, she must be the owner - she is so nice and friendly, we always leave her a good tip. The restaurant is outdated - fun Green Bay history fact it was actually the first Pizza Hut in the area way back when. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are looking for some Chinese food...

Read more6:00 pm: Went to pick up food at restaurant. When walking out the door I saw a woman laying in the parking lot with her head in a pool of blood. Another woman was with her and the rescue squad had just pulled up. I drove home and discovered that my order was wrong. Went back to pick up correct order and the blood was still in the parking lot right outside the door. I informed the OWNER about the blood as it was not appealing to see upon entering the restaurant. The owner kind of blew me off. I stopped by this morning and the blood was still there even though it had rained after I told her. Went to some baseball games this morning and checked on my way home and blood is still there. I find this a bit unnerving. Food is good but now I am doubting the cleanliness...
