I was Wendy's FIRST New Breakfast Customer at the East State Street Location. All i have to say is ...WOW. My order was a #7 combo ( breakfast baconator) a Maple bacon chicken croissant. A large Vanilla frosty coffee thing and a sweet tea for backup. As I dove into the new uncharted waters of wendy's breakfast. I was hopeful. After all, wendy's had been left in the dust by the breakfast fastfood chain wagon. After a friendly conversation with the staff, i pulled away with my order riding shotgun. I first bit into the complimentary first customer oatmeal cookie, though i hesitate to call it that. Cookie is not the word for this so called food that i had put into my mouth. The Correct word would be Heaven. Soft and flavorful. Not dry. Not salty. Not too sweet. The taste of the raisins and cranberries just added to the experience of pure bliss on my palate. I cleansed my palate with a sip of the Coffee. A true cold coffee flavored brew. The flavor didn't overwhelm the taste of the coffee which was perfect. It was the right amount of bitter and flavor. If you would like your flavor to shine through the light bitterness of the coffee, then i would reccomend adding a splenda or two. Next were the Potatoes fires/wedges. Being a fan of McDonald's hashbrowns, this was going to be very hard to beat. In one corner is the McDonald's Hashbrown, in the other corner is the Wendys wedge. Who will win? The bell rings " ding ding dind " as i pick up wedge and raise it to my mouth. The lights go black. Silence fell across the crowd. They hear a single hit. Who Won????? The lights come back on, revealing the winner. THE WENDYS WEDGE IS THE NEW CHAMP! I DONT BELIEVE IT....I JUST DON'T BELIEVE IT!!!. I reached for another, again...a winner !! It was perfectly seasoned. I mean perfectly. The outside had a thin crisp layer with a soft flavorful interior. What a joy. I cleansed my palate once more. Next up....the Chicken. This chicken sandwich will compete against Chick fillet's chicken sandwiches. All the other chains could never come close to a chick fillet's chicken sandwich. Until now. The tenderness and breading were perfect. The bacon and melted butter ( not a lot of butter, i was like a small glaze ) complimented the taste of the chicken. But the Croissant.... no one has ventured to this area other than Burger King. Once you have this Croissant, you wont want another. it was soft. and perfect. The butter also added to the flavor of the croissant. It couldn't get any better from there. I had one sandwich left. Their flaship sandwich branded sandwich. The Breakfast Baconator. It was like eating a freshly cooked homemade breakfast sandwich. It tasted natural. I wasn't expecting that. The egg wasn't excessively large and yellow. It looked and tased like a real egg. The sausage and bacon and cheese, also very natural tasting. Just WOW ! It comes served with a soft bun, and has a good dressing to complement the taste. Its not an overbearing mayo taste. I really cant place it but its light flavor is delightful. I was skiddish, diving into the waters unknown. Im glad I did. Wendys is officially on the fastfood breakfast wagon, and driving it. The others may be on board...but they are not in the drivers seat. But dont take my word for it. Try...
Read moreI’m never been one to make complaints and only feel so compelled to write this bad review for a business based on trying everything else and not being able to get it fixed. I work across from this Wendy’s and try to get a double stack with only mayo nearly every day on my half hour or less break. For the last 2-3 months my order has been messed up around half those times. I wish this was hyperbole. There was one instance around when they switch from breakfast where they told me they would bring my food out and then just never came for like 10 minutes so I assume they must have cleared off my order to keep their times low and then forgot about me. I had to go in and get my food eventually. Most of the time my order is just made wrong with anything but the mayo it’s supposed to have. I, as clearly as I possibly can give my order, they repeat it back to me and then still consistently gets messed up. I am able to drive back when I realize the error and get my correct order if I have the time but usually I don’t have enough time. I have talked to every manager multiple times and told the GM about my repeated issues but it just keeps happening. I’ve worked many service industry and fast food jobs and know how hard it can be so I don’t make this review lightly. I used to love coming here, I don’t think they care that I won’t be back but it is still truly disappointing it couldn’t get fixed and I could keep giving them...
Read moreI ran through the drive thru for lunch. The person who took my order sounded uninterested in life in general, just a whoa is me type voice..almost depressing. When I got to the window to pay for my order I was greeted by a friendly face and a smile. The gentleman told me the amount, asked how my day was and actually listened as I told him about the voice that took my order. He apologized for that experience, thanked me for my order and time me to enjoy the rest of my day. I drove away with a smile on my face due to his kindness. I asked for his name at the next window because service such as that deserves recognition. So thank you Cody, for making a positive difference in a difficult day! You ARE...
