I have worked at three separate Jimmy Johns Franchises in four years. While I am no longer an employee of this company, I can't help but feel second hand embarrassment from this particular location. *Of the 6 employee's on staff, only 3 were working, 1 on each sandwich line, and 1 slicing turkey. I assume the additional 3 employee's are delivery drivers/cyclists as that was the number of delivery employee's on the clearly visible dispatch screen. Speaking of the dispatch screen, how is it that you have 20-30 deliveries and they are all delay tickets? In my time as an employee I've never seen such a consistency of order types. I have to believe that the staff is purposely delaying these orders either due to being overwhelmed, or due to not being able to complete the workload which from my perspective is quite manageable by company standards. Why are half of the employee's not performing work tasks? Clearly both cold tables where actively making tickets. Probably for the litany of self delayed tickets. While it is not the primary function of a delivery person to make the food, it is expected that they will at the bare minimum meat pull and wrap sandwiches. Why are there 20 boxes of chips/produce/store materials just lazily stacked up in the lobby? I understand that due to COVID-19 the display rack for the chips may have to be empty, but that doesn't explain why these twenty boxes haven't been placed in their correct places in the kitchen or back of house. Especially with 3 employee's not doing any work. Sandwich was mostly good to Jimmy Johns Standards. Except for the most important factor, the bread. My sandwiches bread was over-proofed by I would estimate thirty to forty minutes. While I acknowledge that proofing bread has varying results from time and temperature, any trained bread maker at Jimmy Johns should be able to identify when bread has finished proofing, and after time even be able to eyeball it. I have many other notes, but honestly, they don't compare to these major issues.
Once again, I have a long experience working with this company, from delivering food, to management. The experience I had at this location honestly makes me want to take time from my day, come back, and put this place into some form of satisfactory working order, of my own accordance. There's no reason why this location shouldn't succeed. I have to believe that both management and the owner of this location need to be addressed on the poor quality...
Read moreI wish I could give this location as zero in rating! The lady Marlese who took my order had absolutely no personality which I only noticed because I told her I've never been to Jimmy johns before and then instead of her making a recommendation based on what I told her I wanted on the sandwich, she just stared at me blankly which translated into rudeness. What makes it even worse is the guys who were making the sandwiches who overheard me saying I've never been to Jimmy John's before also stared at me blankly without giving me any recommendations. I told her the ingredients i wanted on my sandwich. Instead of directing me to the proper menu item, Marlese kept asking me if I wanted ingredients that I did not say I wanted. I felt rushed because there was a line building behind me and she kept tapping her finger on the cash register, even though we'd only been interacting less than 30 seconds by that time. To top it all off my sandwich came to a whopping $8.81 from the menu proceed at 4.99. When I asked her why it was so much she did not explain to me that she would be giving me an entire pickle that cost an additional dollar and a half. I did not want an entire pickle, I just wanted pickles on my sandwich. Had she explained that it is their Jimmy John's way to give you an entire pickle for one little old sandwich I would have opted out ! And after all that, the sandwich was less than delicious! The bread is so plain it could hardly be considered Gourmet the way Jimmy John's advertises. The ingredients are mediocre at best especially the turkey and that's even being generous in my description! There was absolutely no flavor to the sandwich and I highly recommend finding a Krogers or Publix to make a better sandwich than this place. Two...
Read moreI love Jimmy John's. Almost everyday I go to this location (14th and State St). I always get an unwich and I don't know where or how they manage to find the freshest lettuce in the whole world! Lolol!
The service is super fast and for the most part everyone is courteous. Not sure I have real expectations for smiles, please and thank-you's from any fast food joint; so, I won't judge them for their lack of this courtesy. I would give them five stars but the the tables are almost always dirty. I once saw a manager come out with napkins and brush the tables off.
Anyway, I do recommend this location.
Update: twice I have found hair in the food. They wear hats but not to the point where their hair is tucked under the hats. One girl has really wild hair and once it was her hair. They have a newer guy there now with long hair and this second instance was his. They remade the...
