Not sure what has happened over the last few months. But I used to RAVE about this place and eat there at LEAST once if not twice a week. My coworkers would make jokes about me eating there so much. But the last few times Iāve tried have been less than stellar.
Letās start with on one occasion I ordered there, got back to work and there was a bread tie twisty thing in my food. I drive for a living and couldnāt immediately go back. I called. The guy offered me free food next time instead of a refund. Normally the Germaphobe in me wouldāve been done after that, but the food is usually good and my coworkers convince me that it wasnāt that serious. I was a little taken aback though that he thought I would WANT to eat there again. Few weeks later, Iām at work, hungry, decide to text and ask if i could come get the sandwich. No response. I wait another week or 2, walk over with my coworker who was getting food elsewhere and asked the guy if i could cash in my replacement at that time. He says he didnāt see the text before, but sure. I usually get the vegan Philly or the vegan burger. The sandwich to be replaced was the Philly. Got back to work and the bread was hard and it was salty!! I said I was done after that. I get to work today, a few weeks later, donāt know what I wanted to eat. Decided to give it one more try! Iām DONE!! I ordered the burger. It was horrible. I also usually get kimchi fries. Today they were so hard I could barely eat them. Something else I guess I never paid attention to until today cause usually I order and pick up, is how they go from the register to closing your food up after the ladies hand it to them,...

Being vegetarian we decided on the Beyond Mi Burger a Plant-based beyond burger with pickled carrots and daikon, cucumbers, jalapenos, cilantro, Boston lettuce, vegan aioli on a vegan sesame bun for $16.00.
The burger is glazed in a teriyaki sauce and the bun is so soft it is if a Hawaiian bun and Wonder Bread bun had a baby...this is that bun!
Then we thought that should be enough but if we don't come back to the Atlanta area for a while we don't want to miss out!!! Tried the Vegan Philly Cheesesteak Beyond meat with carrots, scallions, bell peppers, caramelized onions, vegan cheese & vegan aioli on a Cuban hoagie. $17.00 As good as this is, I loved the burger more. For a lady the burger to bun ratio is perfect and the flavor is POW! The hoagie/sub felt more, we'll, just more.
Next up were were the Kimchi Fries Crispy fries topped with honey sriracha, kimchi, melted provolone, scallions. $6.50 Holy Moly!!!š Get the fries, get 2! If you love fries and Kimchi....why is everyone not doing this! Brilliant...this meal just took a month off my life but it was worth it.
Order just :10-:15 before you want it, pull down the street to eat. Not a lot of places to park there. Be respectful of the neighbors that live there. Saw a few folks parked in front of driveways...
The gentleman that came out to our car, yup the car, to deliver the food, super sweet/nice/polite...tip well! It is so worth it ;)...

I feel the need to put that out there first and foremost because I took my husband here for date night and sure felt a fool once we got here. Instead of tables and chairs, we encountered one of the most complex hub of take-out only restaurants with a tableted ordering system. MattChews is just one of the restaurants who rent the kitchen space behind the walls here, and the chairs are for those awaiting their orders. You can get there first and order through the tablets, but it's probably far easier to order online and get there once the food is ready. When you arrive, there is a simple check-in to let the restaurant know you're there, and the person at the booth will either call your name or your food will be made available one of the clearly numbered lockers.
Now that that's out of the way, we should get to the food. MattChews offers some of the most generous serving sizes of rice plates I've ever encountered from a takeout place. The containers seem like they're the same size as any other place, but don't be fooled. These have a deeper bottom AND they're wider (we got home and checked - all our other Chinese takeout containers are laughably puny next to these), which is why you'll see some higher prices on the menu. We ordered the fried rice with the salmon and egg, which was just stupendous - a generous portion of perfectly cooked salmon and a runny egg whose yolk sauced the rice underneath in the most lascivious manner.
It was good enough to make us forget we were eating in our car in the...
