First off anyone leaving beyond a 2 star review for this hell hole is absolutely being paid by the hotel.
TOXIC BLACK MOLD, cockroaches and other safety issues
STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL AS YOU CAN. I would give it negative stars if I could. I was here for a conference in Aug 2024 and absolutely did not pick this hotel myself, I never would have.
In one word this hotel is the epitome of dingy. NOWHERE close to 4 stars. Barely even feels like a 2 star property. I’m convinced the people who say this place is clean need their eyes checked or are being paid off by the hotel.
To start, the rooms desperately need updating. My first room the vanity was coming apart from water damage and constantly snagged my clothes. Two days into my stay I looked closer and noticed my vanity was covered in black mold… at this point I had been coughing and sniffling non-stop and was wondering if I was getting sick. And yes I was, from the mold… and I couldn’t smell a typically musty mold smell because my room backed up to the pool and reeked of chlorine. The bathrooms have no fan which is wild for a humid place like Georgia…. No wonder there’s so much mold, there’s nowhere for the steam to go! I also heard my neighbors at ALL hours because the walls are the thinnest I’ve ever experienced. And the pool is open until 10pm so everything happening at the pool echoed and blasted right into my room. Even 2 star hotels have better walls and insulation. I could hear every conversation at the pool and all of my neighbors. I could hear people talking in the hallway getting back from partying ALL NIGHT.
I was here for a conference and brought up these issues to other attendees after noticing the mold. At least 3 other people also had mold in their rooms. Others mentioned weird stains and rips on the furniture and pillows… others mentioned their rooms reeked of cigarettes… After voicing these issues to our admin I was moved to a new room that at least didn’t have visible mold. The vanity was also water damaged in the second room though and I now had the stained furniture and ripped sheets experience as well. It felt safe enough for 2 more nights to not make me sick at least so I stuck it out but I would NEVER stay here again. Staff was nice and tried to help but there’s only so much you can do when your hotel is falling apart. The rooms are also covered in dust, it’s clear they are not adequately cleaned.
The front desk is supposed to give you water and food vouchers for the destination fee. They don’t. The housekeeping is also terrible at actually replacing the toiletries. My first room didn’t have any body wash and multiple others in my group said the same thing. But my second room did have body wash surprisingly…
My sheets had a bunch of rips in them, my furniture was all stained. And again the second room was tolerable but I would never choose to put myself in a hotel like this. I would never book a hotel below a 4.0 on Google, trust people saying this hotel sucks. Avoid at all costs. Had I known all this before coming I would have booked another hotel in the area for my conference even at my own expense, that’s how bad this whole experience was.
Weird safety issues happened while we were there including “staff” asking an attendee how long she was leaving her room for…
Many people in our group saw cockroaches, some of them multiple, in their rooms… one person killed 8 fruit flies one morning. The food for our conference was constantly circled by fruit flies.
The AC systems did not consistently work. In my first room it seemed like it was ok. In my second room it would blow cold air even when I turned it up to 76 and then when I turned it down it just shut off completely. Another person in our group turned hers up to 85 and her room literally felt like an ice box.
Lastly, the elevators close on you way too fast, like dangerously fast. I watched at least 5 people get slammed with the door during my time here. One person literally had his arm get stuck in it and he had to painfully...
Read moreI had a late night check in and the staff member who took care of us was absolutely inhospitable. Really rude and didn't take my card when I arrived. Told me everything was good to go. Didn't give us the promised water which for a room of four people only two bottles is crazy. Had to go back down to grab them and she asked "I didn't give you two already?" Uhm no, why else would I have came back down.
We also were set up in the south tower which is the most inconvenient area of the hotel. You have to walk so far just to get to one of the only working elevators out of the two. Then gotten to the room that was misleading from the image that we actually order the based on. No microwave and a small restroom.
The next night we came in late after the concert and they locked us out of the room. We thought the cards were messing up but we came down and the same lady was there with a terrible attitude again. Told me they didn't have a card on file and so I did the terrible walk all the way up to just find out that my card was in the room but I grabbed my fiancé's card that is a joint card. Trekked all the way back down and over just for her to give more attitude a to us about the card because if didn't have my name on it.
So I told her that my card was in the room we were locked out of. She sighed in inconvenience. She had security ESCORT us back to the room, wouldn't let the rest of my party in just me to grab my card and closed the door as we went back down. I found a sheet saying our payment declined... mind you we paid for 3/4 a month prior and had our card in their system. Also we were never contacted, phone or email about the payment situation and only put this piece of paper in a room we were locked out of. But when I asked what we owed and held up my card to the lady during my check-in she said I'm good to go. I just assumed they take the payment out when we left. Also they have something called a "destination fee" for each day we stay, which is crazy considering that I never saw that when I was booking the room through Expedia.
Anyways. We come back down with my card and I chose to let another lady take care of us since the other terrible lady had someone which she was giving them terrible service as well. The lady swiped my card told me I was good to go. But I was just coming down to get cards that worked.
At this point my fiancé and sister were sitting in the hallway at 2-3 am for almost 1 hour (yes it takes that long to go down, back up, back down, back up, back down and back up again). The next day the entire building was filled with people and children for a pageant but you couldn't get on the elevator or even when we got to the floor level to leave you couldn't even get out of the building. People and stuff all on the floor near the south elevator exit.
Had the breakfast there for four. Well over a 100dollars and was the same thing you get for free at a regular hotel in the middle of no where. Food wasn't good and paid gratuity for someone to only refill my drink once. I wouldn't suggest the breakfast. It wasn't worth it.
The pool was great and the other employees were nice except the lady. I think her name was Mary. And the security guard made me feel like we'd done something wrong with the way he was acting.
Don't do valet. It's silly. We paid $75 dollars to park across the streets no problems. Better than paying 170 for valet.
I went to file a complaint to the day manager the morning we were checking out and there was no apology or no reassurance or anything offered. Just a "I'll have a conversation with her".
I only put this on here to give the truth we didn't want anything out of it. But we are definitely never staying at that location again. I am a Wyndham fan but that one just put a bad taste...

during Check in, we had to wait in a line for more than an hour, and checked in via prepaid Wyndham rewards program. I paid $555.66 for four days and was told they could not find my reservation and that I needed to leave the primacies because they had my mother's name on the account. They said that She had to be there. She is 83 and was not traveling with me. I took over her Wyndham account two years ago and it is in my name. I refused and asked to speak to the manager who easily found me on the account and checked me in. I again waited in a separate line for more than an hour.
There were several pending charges on my incidental account totaling more than $1800.00. I again stood in line for more than 1 hour, They admitted to the mistake and after showing my conformation email, and providing my conformation number, I was assured that I would pay only a destination fee of a little over $27 per day and that would come out of the $100 hold on my credit card (more on this later).
The staff was very rude, other than the restaurant staff, they were pleasant, they acted as it I was the problem and saw my overcharge as a burden. They seemed to enjoy running you through hoops in order to wear you out so that you just give up and pay the overcharges and accept their terrible service. They kept sayin, "we are short staffed," or they state, "Whoops we made a mistake...my bad."
The room was not service during the duration of our stay July 11-15. When I did ask for additional towels, I had to wait in ta line for 42 minutes and received one towel with a blood stain the size of two silver dollars.
After check out, I was charged $232.36 and cancelled my credit card. Again, I was assured that those changes would not occur. Also, the charges did not drop off automatically and were still listed as pending. I was on the phone with them Tuesday PM. The problem: I was in town for the MLB All Star Game and I missed it because I was dealing with this nefarious crisis.
After leaving Atlanta, I attempted to contact Wyndham and Courtland and was put in several "loops" for what I perceive as an effort to wear me out so I accept an unnecessary charge. I was on the phone with Wyndham and also left 17 messaged on the Courtland voice message system after being redirected. until 2:00 AM Thursday, July 17, 2025. At no time was I ever able to speak to a person with authority.
I again attempted to call Courtland and Wyndham and took advantage of the fact they record their calls and I vehemently expressed my concerns. I finally got through to someone by saying: Imagine you were seeing over $1800 or charges on your account pending, waiting in lines and were on the phone for hours upon hours. You spent two year preparing to attend and All Star Game, fan fest, MLB draft, and Futures Game and then you couldn't attend it because you were dealing with a bunch of unnecessary running around and hopes that you needed to jump through in an effort to wear you down.
Wyndham found a magic number other than the one that looped us in or they used the number and I was able to speak to Malcolm. Now Malcomb snowballed me and said they refunded an additional $318.00 to my account, which was actually one of the unnecessary charges. The $232.52 still remained. He assured me that it would be credited back and that it would take 3-5 business days to post. The odd thing that Pinocchio told me, was that it would take 3-5 business days because The $236.52 was actually charged after the $318.00 "credit" which was illegally added to my account in the...
