On January 15, 2016, I visited the Milltown Tavern around 2:30pm to enjoy Friday's lunch special with my eight year old daughter. After entering the bar that had two to three other patrons, my daughter and I sat in a booth and waited to be served. We were greeted by a female server that upon taking our order advised that we would not be able to take advantage of the lunch special because the Milltown Tavern was a smoking establishment and the lunch special was for dine in customers only. She then suggested that we visit an eatery that was further down the street. I informed the waitress that it was no problem and that we would eat our meal in the outside dining area. The waitress went on to question my decision, insinuating that weather conditions were too inclement for dining outside. I told her that we would be fine, as we had just walked over from the Fulton Cotton Mill Lofts. After consenting, she went on to confirm our order, but informed us that the lunch special only came with fries or tator tots. I found this very ironic because on the day prior, the waitress offered me an array of side options with the lunch special. Nevertheless we ordered the tator tots and proceeded outside. The waitress followed soon after with our drink orders and went on to complement the weather that she once felt was inclement. While delivering our food, the waitress offered to refill my daughter's dwindling beverage. When my daughter declined, the waitress went back inside and never returned. After finishing our meal, I went inside to retrieve the check as well as to get refills. After receiving the $19.71 check and refills, I went back outside to prepare to depart. The waitress followed and after reaching our table, I handed her a twenty dollar bill. She then asked, "Is that it?" and I confirmed, "Yes." She went on to say, "Next time you should order to go." I asked her to repeat herself to confirm what I heard and she did verbatim. This was the worst level of customer service I have ever experienced at the Milltown Tavern during my five year tenure at the Fulton Cotton Mill Lofts. I was even more disappointed because I had my best customer service experience in the Milltown Tavern just twenty four hours prior. In conclusion, it my wish that my waitress be reprimanded for the lackluster service she provided and for the brash and tactless manner in which she conducted herself in front of my...
Read moreSo we stopped here on our way back from North Carolina and it was a super cute place to find! It had great food and a fun lively atmosphere. We sat with friends in the bar area where the bar opened up to the patio which made for great people watching and it was fun to see all the beautiful dishes they were serving. It was super busy so service isn't super fast but they were running as fast as they could and it was worth the wait! The only thing I would say that kept me from giving it a 5 star review is that the specialty cocktails were cute & pretty and nice in theory but rather bland & Tasteless. If I wasn't a great bartender I wouldn't be so particular maybe but when I spend $14 on a drink, I really lexpect to like it, however we liked this place a lot and would definitely go back if we were in the area. The food was as tasty as it...
Read moreThe RUDEST server ever. It was super busy and we've never been there before, so we didn't know we had a server since we were waiting at our table for 10 minutes without anyone coming over. So my friend and I went to the bar to get beers for everyone and when we came back the server was finally there. She made very rude comments to us because we ordered from the bar and continued snide comments to us over the next 10 minutes. We finally left without ordering anything else because of her harassment. If she had calmly explained anything to us we would have stayed. The worst. Go somewhere less pretentious with better customer service. So many better...
