What a beautiful home run by two lovely people! The oasis name really sums it up. Despite the popular Krog location, with the surrounding greenery, one side of the home being cupped by a hill, and the private fence, the stay was remarkably quiet and serene. I loved looking into the verdant garden from the beautiful big windows.
We stayed here for a concert at the Variety Playhouse and were amazed by how easy it was to get back afterward. Since it was late at night and the way back went through neighborhoods, there was almost no traffic.
I had some work to do on Saturday and enjoyed being serenaded by the gentle tweets of the parakeets and the occasional chatter from the parrot, Echo. If you don't like birds or dogs, this is not the stay for you, but we love both so we enjoyed the animal company! We also liked the simple continental breakfast. Hard-boiled eggs, fruit, toast, and good coffee makes the perfect breakfast in my opinion.
Staying here really felt like having a home in the city to return to. We stayed in a downstairs bedroom. It was comfortable and had everything we needed. The bathroom we used had a big shower and the sink, while small, had just enough room for my makeup supplies. I wasn't sure what they would have there, so just a note (because other reviews didn't mention this), simple soap and shampoo were provided. We had everything we needed.
I highly recommend staying here if you like animals and want a relaxing experience, especially if you want to explore the local area! It's a lovely home and the hosts have made it a very comfortable...
Read moreWe thoroughly enjoyed staying at Urban Oasis for our first visit to Atlanta. Located in the Inman Park neighborhood, it's close to most of the center of the city: footwalk distance to the historic district and the Old 4th Ward, and not far from Midtown and Downtown. It's also right next to one of Atlanta's most recent attractions, the Beltline - the local version of Manhattan's Highline, except that for most of its length it feels like a walk through a forest. Birds, chipmunks, and squirrels enjoy their garden and pool and are kept in check by the owner couple's sweet two dogs.
For food, it's across the street from Krog Street Market, and Ponce City Market is 20 minutes on foot north following the Beltline. Inman Park was probably our favorite neighborhood. A brief walk away from it is the local grungy corner, Five Small Points, which again is surrounded by quiet, forested neighborhoods.
The place itself is gorgeous. It's a renovated former warehouse. The huge central room, around which everything is located, has - best guess - a 10-meter-high ceiling! II's full of cozy little corners and paintings on the walls, with much thought put into little details here and in the guest rooms. Beds were comfortable, and everything is kept very clean. Judi's husband, Duane, is always up for a chat (if you'd like one) and to share both stories from a long life lived richly, or about Atlanta and what to do there.

Read moreReally nice stay at Urban Oasis! My husband and I stayed for a long weekend and very much enjoyed our stay. Ollie & Charlie, the resident dogs are the absolute sweetest! Judi and Duane were friendly and the location was fantastic. Walking distance to the beltline with tons of restaurant & bar options. It was nice to be able to park our car in a gated lot right by the residence. Our room was comfortable and clean! We will definitely stay again next time we’re in Atlanta. I do suggest earplugs for sleeping. You can hear noise from the beltline at all hours of the night into the morning (from the room we stayed in at least). This was kind of to be expected because how close the home is to nightlife. Very tastefully decorated and had a serene vibe to the house! Also great recommendations for food and drink on the chalkboard in the home. My neighborhood favorites are Delbar for food, Ladybird for drinks and patio hangs and The Eastern is a wonderful...
