Piece of Cake is by far the most tasty bakery experience I've ever had. On my first visit, I purchased one of each Red Velvet, Banana, and Peanut Butter cake slices. I wanted to try a variety of different flavor to better form an opinion on the cakes.
My random selection of cake choices made be a believer in the best cake category for Piece of Cake. The Peanut Butter Cake was very moist. The frosting was creamy with an occasional nut or peanut butter lump inside for a bit of texture here and there. This cake reminded me of the peanut butter cake/bar served occasionally during my elementary school years.
The Banana cake was just as moist with a mild banana flavor. Because the banana flavor wasn't so strong, I really enjoyed this cake slice more than I'd anticipated. I was pleasantly surprised by how light, airy and tasty this Banana Cake turned out.
Now, for the Red Velvet Cake, I wasn't disappointed. Hands down my mom makes the best Red Velvet Cake with pecan added to the frosting, but Piece of Cake's version was pretty good. The cake was slightly more dense than the other two slices mentioned earlier, but this is characteristic of a properly made Red Velvet cakes. The cream cheese icing on this cake could have used a tad bit MORE cream cheese and a little LESS sugar.
All in all, Piece of Cakes is my go to spot for satisfying my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs a longtime customer who has probably purchased over 75 cakes for business purposes in the past few years, I have to say how disappointed I have become recently in their decline in customer service and quality. When I purchased a chocolate cake for a Christmas party that I was hosting, the cake was extremely dry and almost inedible. When I reported this to the Cobb Pkwy store on the next business day, I was initially told that I would have to bring in the original cake to get a refund. I was quite shocked as this was during the holiday season and I didnāt keep the cake. I threw it away after the party. Then today, I stopped by the Collier store to pick up a cake for a business event tomorrow. I had very short notice of the event. Iāve never had issues with cake availability at this main store however at 4:30 PM, they only had one cake left in the entire store (German Chocolate). I was told that they had less cakes due to it being Labor Day yesterday and they werenāt allowed to order a lot. This confused me as I donāt know how Labor Day would impact cake sales the following day? But then I was also told when I called customer service that this is called piece of cake. That they only guarantee selling pieces of cake not whole cakes. So I guess Iāll be moving on because itās no longer a piece of cake to buy...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHOSTILE, RUDE CASHIER. Thereās a middle-aged woman with short hair and black framed eyeglasses who is totally disgusting. Iāve been a longtime customer of Piece of Cake and typically shop here 2-3x/week (mostly for my events and sometimes for myself). Recently, Iāve been encountering the aforementioned cashier on every visit and every single time she is very nasty. Sheās getting bolder, so Iāve decided to stop shopping here altogether. To give an example of what to expect when you encounter this cashierā¦one time, while she was standing at one cash register, I go up to where she was & put my items on the counter to check out. She barked at me āun uh, iāll take you on that one.ā So I go to the other register and start getting my money together while I wait for her. While doing so, she yells at me to get my stuff (referring to the items that I had given her at the other cash register). She was very agitated and couldnāt be bothered to grab my items and bring them to the other cash register as would happen in a normal customer service environment. On another occasion, after ringing me up she makes a loud āUGH!ā noise and rolls her eyes to express her annoyance in my asking for a receipt. there are way too many bakery options in Atlanta to have to deal with this. Good riddance,...
