So I heard about this place on WSB Belinda Skeltons Atlanta living a month or two ago. Iv'e been wanting to go there an I did finally last night. Great location downtown, right off 10th street. There were about 10 people in there and I waited about 5 minutes to get sereved. They were having trouble with there Mac register (get rid of it please) so I was patient. The people were friendly, I realized it wasn't a mass moving doghnut machine like Krispy or Dunken, but thats ok. They definitly are lacking in an expedient system for service but the employees were frendly being understaffed as one said. It happens. So, I bought a dozen for my family. With tip I spent $20. They didn't have any red velvet which was dissapointing but They still had a good selection. The A Town Lived up to what I heard. The Dulce de leche needs to be filled, not glazed. But it was good. The rasberry filling was amazing but......BUT.... The oreo was the dissapointing one. It was good, when I cut it in half i drooled, but it 's filling had a weird taste to it, sweet but like somene else described "floral" Maybe? My hope is they develop a system thats more expediant. The prices where on the high side, avg $1.80 a doghnut. So i felt it was a bit overrated. They are decent size and the rest were inhaled by my kids so I know there good having tried a bit of each. I still will go back again, I just hope they invest on improvments to how they deliver. Keep the staff, there good people. I think this place has a lot of potential to compete with the big 2 down the road. For taste i will say...
Read moreGreat doughnuts. Only wish they had a microwave to heat doughnuts for just about 10 sec. There are lots of choices to try out. My favorites bowtie glazed twist and croissant glaze. I didn't know they are open 24 hrs. That was all that I stated in my review from last week. I was there on yesterday again only this time no one was at the front counter. While waiting for just a minute I rang the bell. Young lady came out and said she'd be with me in a moment. One of the cooks/ Baker came out we had a brief friendly conversation. He acknowledged to the young lady again that I( a customer )was waiting. By that time a male customer walked in. The lady then came from the back looking in his direction and asked him what he wanted. I said to her Quickly-"wait a minute I was hear 1st and you haven't even taken my order". We both looked at each other (the male customer )- as she then stated Oh I'm going to take care of you too. Well 1st of all maybe she Doesn't understand what GOOD FRIENDLY PROFESSIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE IS. You take care of 1 customer at a time and Definitely the 1st one in line. Don't skip to acknowledged the next person because of whatever the reason you(employee) has something else going on in the back and you're in a hurry to get back to it. Take care of your customers " In Order". You my dear are the reason for this Edit on Customer Service. And the change from 5 to 3...
Read moreStopped by August 30th around 9:30pm. My friend and I got a half of dozen donuts to go. We got 2 strawberry and cream, 2 yin and yang twists, an A-town cream, and the chocolate raspberry heart. Service was fine, the lady ringing us up was nice. Someone else behind the counter was on their speaker phone... The shop was dimmly lit, not sure if that's what they're going for late at night, but it was hard to see the donuts on the shelves clearly. My friend and I split the donuts and parted ways... I tried some of the donuts in the car on the way home... The yin and yang twist was doughy and undercooked, I told my friend to see if hers was edible as mine was not. Wasn't happy about getting an undercooked donut. The A-town cream donut was tasty, was glad it was cooked. The strawberry and cream donut was pretty good (also cooked), the fresh strawberries are a nice addition. The cream part is a sweet icing that I scooped out the majority of. My friend enjoyed the chocolate raspberry one and also said the icing was rather sweet in the strawberry and cream one. Overall not a bad experience... Wouldn't mind coming back for late night donuts when I'm on this side of town, but they definitely need to check for doneness of the donuts, selling undercooked donuts isn't safe as someone could get sick if they...
