My husband and I were visiting Atlanta and stopped by here for lunch before heading home. Thai is our favorite! Our waiter, Addie, told us it was his 1st day. He was really wonderful - very friendly, helpful with the menu, made some excellent recommendations, and overall just a real pleasure to interact with. We had shared only appetizers for our lunch: papaya salad, tom yum soup, coconut soup, fresh basil rolls, calamari, and fried tofu. Every single dish that we had was simply delicious, including the different sauces that came with them. The restaurant is really beautiful on the inside. Service became slightly slow, but it was very busy during lunch so that didn't really bother us. Here's why we rated only 4 stars: We ordered to-go meals for dinner that night. Another waiter, who was also very nice, took our to-go order. I ordered stir fry basil w/ veggies (my favorite) and my husband ordered a curry w/ tofu. I specified that both were on the lunch menu so that we didn't get the larger portion. When we got home (2 hours away), I found that my order was wrong. They gave me the large portion of basic veggie & tofu stir fry. I looked it up and we paid close to $20 from my meal that I didn't even order or really want. It was okay, but I would have never paid that much for a basic stir fry. I couldn't call to ask for a refund because we had paid with cash. So, live and learn - always check your takeout before leaving the restaurant!!! We will return, but what a disappointing way to end what had been such a...
Read moreOur group of 5 enjoyed a variety of Thai foods, starting with solid appetizers of fried calamari and fried tofu. Highly recommend tofu for all the tofu lovers! These were larger cuts of tofu instead of small cubes like fried tofu at most places. Tom kha soup is deliciously creamy. Panang curry and pad-see-ew were also very good, although portions are on the smaller side. We found the egg in the pad-see-ew particularly tasty and will request extra egg next time!
We decided to order one of the special items on the menu and got the Thai fried chicken with papaya salad and sticky rice. Everything was seasoned very well (imagine fried chicken seasoned with lemongrass), but the chicken was disappointingly dry.
The night ended with desserts-- coconut cake and Thai tea creme brulee. I'm usually not a fan of coconut desserts but love their cake! The coconut cake is the same as at the owner's other restaurant, Bangkok Station. This was everyone's first time eating Thai tea creme brulee and it's exactly what you'd expect. Might come back just for this again.
Would definitely recommend! We shared 2 apps, 1 hotpot soup, 3 entrees, 2 desserts family-style for ~$30/person, and we all left very full.
Pros: Plenty of parking in the back, friendly customer service, great dessert, tasty food Cons: Modest portion sizes, no mango sticky rice during off-season (probably for...
Read moreI gave this place two tries back to back and I was disappointed every time. Yesterday (Friday Night) I went after work with some co workers. Upon walking in there was no one at the hostess stand. We waited for over 5min for someone to greet and come seat us. Upon seating it took forever for a waiter to come. When he finally came that was the 1st of the 3 times we would see him. We literally had to flag down other waitresses to get him to come back and service us. We waited over 20min for him to come back and close out our check. I guess he didnt care to service us because they automatically include 18% gratuity but this was the worst service I ever experienced at a restaurant.
I left my food that I packed up to go the day before so I ordered the steak hibachi to go on Saturday because I wanted it again. I went in to pick up and pay, she asks me if I paid ? I tell her no. She takes my card and starts doing other stuff, seating other guests, checking tables etc. All I had to do was pay…….. IT TOOK 15MIN FOR HER TO CHECK ME OUT!!!! All she had to do was swipe the card I already had the food. Service is even bad when you’re doing pickup orders.
I will say the food is good but I will not be coming back and spending my money at this establishment. Customer service here is completely nonexistent & I guess because it’s automatic gratuity they don’t care about the...
