I recently checked into the Hotel Colee for a one night stay; I was attending a wedding at this hotel and since the wedding was on the hotel rooftop I decided to stay the night to experience the hotel fully. The rooms were very clean and the overall hotel upkeep was very nice and well kept. I only wish the hotel took this much pride in their customer service. After the wedding, my fiancé and I decided to get some food somewhere in the hotel if it was available. Heavy hors d’oeuvres were served at the wedding so we assumed the same or similar food could be purchased at the hotel. Additionally, I am pregnant and needed to eat a little more food. My fiancé asked, what appeared to be the rooftop manger if there was a restaurant or place to order food in the hotel. She proceeds to respond with “there’s food downstairs”. Following what was said, we go downstairs to the restaurant ‘Sister’ where there’s absolutely no one to serve us. We arrived there around 8:30pm and the restaurant closes at 10pm according to Google. We waited here for about 20 minutes, no one around still. At this point, we order postmates and leave the restaurant so that we can get back to our friends and family as the reception of the wedding was still going on. Once our postmates food arrives, my fiancé attempts to bring our food to the rooftop lounge where I’m waiting to eat. The host then explains that outside food is not allowed in. While waiting for my fiancé I also see other guests at the bar eating food. Food that was apparently available for order at the bar. While my fiancé is talking to the host, the manager comes up and with a matter of fact tone/attitude says “you didn’t ask if you could order food up here, you only asked if there was a restaurant”. If we had any idea it was an option to order food at the bar, we most certainly would have. But after following what she said, we did not. She proceeded to go back and forth with us about how it was basically our fault for not asking her correctly about where to order food at the hotel. As a manager and a person in a position of leadership, this was in extremely poor taste and not representative of good customer service to guests of the hotel. Her job is to direct us and present us with options that are available at the hotel as we are guests, not experts or employees of the hotel. Instead, she chose not to take accountability for her misguidance and rude response to us. While we completely understand outside food is not allowed in the lounge area, we did not appreciate the rude response from this manager as guests of the hotel. It is unfortunate that there is someone in a management position at such a nice hotel who treats guests in this manner. I urge upper level management to provide coaching, any applicable disciplinary action, or leadership training to management of the lounge so that no other guest has to experience such rude behavior. We were only looking for direction and in doing so were misguided and met with a rude response after. I hope her behavior is not reflective of what the Marriott Autograph collection hotels represents and values. Because it is definitely not a good look and should be rectified.
Pt 2 in response to the manager: My review states that we completely understand outside is not allowed into the lounge area. Much like the rude manager we dealt with Friday night, the focus is being placed on the wrong thing. The issue is not that we wanted to bring in outside food (we aren’t fighting against that at all actually, we happily ate the food in our room), we were looking to order food at the hotel which we were not presented with that option at the time. To the individual who responded to my initial review: The focus is the incredibly rude treatment from one of your managers to guests. While I appreciate your response, the focus appears to be redirected once again to the wrong thing. As a guest of the hotel, we were treated with extreme disrespect by this manager. Unfortunately, I can’t allow that to be glazed over nor can I allow...
Read moreLet’s Start off with Great Location. The Hotel is Nice appearance wise. Valet seem to be on point with Valet and the request for your car when ready was a plus as well. Not all the employees provided a bad experience but let’s go. Upon arrival we were greeted with Valet for $50 a night go in and out as you please. We then made our way to the check in counter and offered a taste of wine and $50 credit to the room as a courtesy. I was like ok, I am feeling valued already. Moving right along, we were then escorted to take a back elevator with luggage 🧳 on cart up to room due to only one elevator working. Keep in mind this hotel has a club on the rooftop that is for both hotel guest and outsiders. I assume on the weekends. The wait for the elevator was an issue. Either it was too crowded when it came to your floor when it arrived or I forgot to mention, you have to swipe your key before pressing your floor. Otherwise, you are riding it up and down and passing the floor you are on. We checked in about 3:30 ish and wanted to get the experience before heading out to a party. So we 1st visited the bar on the 1st Floor across from checkin. No complaint. I forgot to mention the women and guy that checked us in and escorted to elevator were pleasant and apologetic to the elevator situation. We then proceeded to 4th floor to the pool. The water was fogging as if it needed cleaned. We then headed to the Club on the rooftop. Just a fyi if you buy a drink from the lobby , you must drink it before entering the rooftop. I guess the rooftop is contracted by different people. If you are a guest of the hotel it is free admission must show you room key and if you are an outsider there is a fee $20. Is it worth that, my personal opinion, no. But this is Atlanta, if there is a way there is will. Another way to make an extra buck. The room was fine up until early morning 3am when we returned to get in the bed. We found not 1 sock but a pair of dirty men tube socks in the bed that was taken down to the front desk before checkout in the hotel’s complimentary plastic bag. This let me know whomever cleaned the room before our entry pulled the sheets up and did not strip the bed at all. The were could at the very bottom of the bed in the corner where it is cuffed. So pull your linen out when you arrive at this place. The room itself was not bad at all. It is a bit small, but ok 👍 and up to date. We then of course checked out the next day to learn after we were gone down the road that Cartier Sunglasses were taken out of the car. We were advised that an email would be sent for the sock situation, which I never received and then advised when we called about the sunglasses, that we should not have left them in the car. Really. Just like my company have to do background checks to make sure I secure customer’s personal information, where is the integrity of this is my car and not yours, keep your hands off of what does not belong to you. You get paid to do your job and that is it, not to get a job , get paid , and take from people that is keeping you with a job. Enough is enough for the ignorance across the board. We paid for our service , but we did not expect to stay here to pay you to steal personal items. We have to do better. Again, as I mentioned not all the employees are at fault but the few make it bad for the rest. Lastly, I am booking another room in Buckhead in a few weeks for another event. The plan was if I had a good stay , I’d be back. However , it’s a no for me. Money spend in other places. Thanks but no thanks....

The Colee is a beautiful hotel. It’s decorated with a lovely, pop art and contemporary interior with features reminiscent of Lichtenstein and Warhol. It’s just as beautiful as it looks in the photos, so it had me excited to stay here. The rest was did not.
Valet is required at this hotel. It’s not good enough or too expensive for what it is. Valet is almost $50/day, but it’s slow to the point I would almost rather park my car elsewhere and walk. Valet is supposed to be the more convenient option, but there’s always a line. There’s always a wait. It took 10-15 min to get through valet when I first arrived and another 10-15 min when returning around midnight. No one wants to come back to the place they’re staying in the middle of the night, tired, and wait additional time to get back into the hotel. They also hand you a ticket for your car that states the best way to get in touch is to text the number, but I got an automated message saying they were too busy to respond while there were only two cars downstairs on a Saturday evening (what I would imagine would be a peak time to be on the best of their game). There is parking for the building next to the hotel, but I am unsure if you can use it without issue.
The room was beautiful. Similar to the lobby, it’s designed with beautiful contemporary features and nice little additions like outlets/usb ports in the side table, a nightlight in the backboard, and other features; however, odd little things ruined the experience for me. There was a blower in the room when I checked in in an area that didn’t seem to be addressing the problem. There was a wet spot by/under the couch, but the blower was on the other side of the room by the entrance. The thermostat doesn’t work. If you’re going to include a thermostat for guests, make it functional like the other Bonvoys. Perhaps they locked it, but I’d rather they just rip it out and replace it with a white plate rather than the illusion of changing the dial to then wake up to it not having been moved and almost 10 degrees than where you set it, svelting in the middle of the summer. Additionally, nothing puts the cherry on top like being awoken at 6 am by an alarm you didn’t set. Why did housekeeping not check and reset this? As I went to shower, I discovered a hole in my towel, the shower knob loose and over-extending, and as I went to leave the room, the plate for the entry sensor had fallen off.
Staffing-wise, they seem to be understaffed for the amount of demand they have. What started as minor annoyances added up as I found more and more issues. For the location and what it is, I’m thoroughly disappointed. Lack of attention to detail, subpar service, and constant issues with things you shouldn’t have to deal with during a hotel stay. Save yourself some headache and consider one of the other, many hotels...
